Thank you for the bill details.
    • 07 Jan 21 to 03 Apr 21 - 303kWh of day rate plus 1329kWh of night rate.
    • 03 Apr 21 to 06 Jul 21 - 170kWh of day rate and 611kWh of night rate.
    • 06 Jul 21 to 06 Oct 21 - 118kWh of day rate plus 489kWh of night rate.
Those consumption figures seem quite typical. I guess you heat your water electrically, with an immersion heater? That can easily account for most of your recent night-rate use.
It seems that when you changed from E.ON's "Energy Plan" variavle rate to their "Fix 1 yr V6" at the start of April, they put you on a single-rate tariff not a dual-rate one. You can see this in your bills. This is already costing you money (compare that £126.93 bill to the £98.25 we calculated on the previous page of this thread) and will cost you more in the coming months when you start running your heating.
It's likely that E.ON's request to increase your DD to £127/mo is also due to you currently being on a single-rate tariff.
You really need to speak to E.ON and see if they can put you onto the E7 version of the fixed tariff that you should really have bebn on from the start.

So you were being charged 2 different rates according to the bill. This changed to a single rate plan. There are two things to verify.
    1. That the readings are allocated the right way round
    2. That the meter really is the one connected to your flat.
If the meter is in your flat then (2) should not be an issue, but if it is in a utility room somewhere with other meters, then it may be that the meter allocation is wrong as has been mentioned earlier. The way to check this is to turn on a lot of things (particularly kettles and ovens) at about midnight, go to the meter room, and the one with the red light flashing like crazy is yours.
Once you are sure about the meter, then to check which reading is day and which is night read both registers at 8am and 8pm for a couple of days. The one which increases between 8am and 8pm is the reading for daytime. The other reading is the one for night time. If you discover that the readings were allocated the wrong way round then your supplier will have to recalculate your bill all the way back to the day you started with them. You should also request that you are put back onto a two rate plan, with the readings allocated correctly.

First thing that jumps out is that you changed from E7 standard tariff to single rate fixed plan - why ? The standard tariff was actually costing you less ! To be honest the actual consumption does not seem that bad.

I've not changed anything. Unless E-on have switched me over.

I am still stumped as to what has caused me to get into almost £300 worth of debt, I rarely have the TV on nor the lights as I'm often spending time away from home at parents or at work. £300 seems way excessive to what I believe I've used. I was thinking of buying a computer but not if its going to put me in hundreds of pounds worth of debt solely due to electric in a one bedroom flat.

I've a boiler in the kitchen which heats the water.
I assume you mean a water tank with a heater element - picture ?.
Do you have a shower - if so electric or thermostatic ?
The first thing you need to do is get the tariff changed to E7, there is no reason they should have changed it unless you asked.
£47pm for an all electric property was never enough so building up £300 over 9 months is not surprising, that is £33 per month which comes to a real DD of £80 which is probably closer to reality.  The single rate has not helped there, getting re-billed at E7 should bring that debt down.
TVs & computers don't use much, it is water and space heating that uses the big numbers.
Once again - is the meter in your flat or in a communal cupboard ?

I have re written my post above but asked the question is the meter actually inside your flat or in a communal cupboard ?
Actual consumption is rarely wrong, most problems come from wrong meters, unsuitable tariffs and incorrect usage of high consumption items.
