Can you provide a photo of you meter displaying the current reading please?Silverlining28 said:Sorry just to add this is a brand new block of 9 flats, we all moved in around January.
Brother says as its a brand new flat the meter shouldn’t be anywhere near 2755. He uses about 100kwh a month at his flat.
I checked the other meters in the block and the flat downstairs is on 5251 😯
Just want to make sure you are not missing a decimal point…0 -

I switched my cooker off last night, left fridge on and showered this morning. Usage on meter hasn't moved.Norman_Castle said:Silverlining28 said:Yes electric heating but I've had it switched off since April. No storage heater running just TV left on standby and my phone plugged into charge up.

When a property is built the developer allocates it a plot number which bears no relation to the final postal address. Each property/flat is then allocated a MPAN and the meter serial number is allocated to the MPAN. Sadly, all too often the MPAN is mis-registered on the National Database. In my case, Plot 14 was registered as number 14 whereas plot 14 was actually number 5.Silverlining28 said:Sorry just to add this is a brand new block of 9 flats, we all moved in around January.

You need to check that the meter that you are looking at has the same serial number as that shown on your bill. If it isn’t, then you need to speak to your supplier. In other words, you might be seeing bills for another flat.
Correcting mis-registrations is not a simple matter as there can be a cascade effect throughout the block. DO NOT let the supplier de-link the serial number from the MPAN. The correct action is to correct the MPAN address on the database. The correct meter will then transfer to you.0 -

I checked the other meters in the block and the flat downstairs is on 5251 😯Meters don't always read zero when they are installed, and 2755 of low-rate electricity for half a winter plus all summer isn't an excessive amount. Do you still have your meter readings from when you moved in? And monthly or quarterly, from then to now? Would you be happy to post them here?N. Hampshire, he/him. Is this meter inside your flat ? If not are you sure it is actually your meter you are looking at ? Ignore any stickers / labels on the meter or numbers on your bill.

Somebody mentioned water heating and it didn’t get picked up upon, similarly you mentioned a shower. Is it an electric shower or, if not, how is the water heating set up?0
