My current tariff isFix 1 Year v6If you've quoted your bills as day rate first and nigh rate second then, in 3 months you've used 118 kWh in the day and 489 kWh at night, which is more than 5kWh each night, so something is using a lot of energy, without the heating being on. You really need to find out what that is. If the heating is off, maybe a water heater? Are you sure the latest 2755 reading is the night one?I can't tell from the tariff name whether you have an Economy 7 tariff. Does the bill show you being charged different rates for the day and night units?0 -

Not entirely sure how I e racked up that amount as I'm often out at work or seeing family and I've not had any heating devices on since March/April.0 -
Yes 2755 is definately the night rate. My brother thinks someone could perhaps be stealing the electric or possibly I've been charged for the other two flats on my floor.Streaky_Bacon said:Silverlining28 said:Yes electric heating but I've had it switched off since April. So during that 92-day period you used 118kWh of day rate plus 489kWh of night rate. This comprised three warm months without heating so it's a lot less than you will use in the next three months. Do you have a record of how much energy you used from January to April?Silverlining28 said:Electricity readings

Your energy for those 92 days would have cost you £98.25 (your £33pm number). But this will go up considerably when you switch your heating on.If you took this fix out when you moved in, it will expire in Jsan or Feb 2022. After that date you will be paying a higher rate.N. These figures indicate you are being charged as a 1 rate meter even though you have an Economy 7 meter. Looks like your day & night usage has been added together. What sort of heaters do you have? Storage or convector?Silverlining28 saidElectricity charges

With regards to your direct debit, it has been increased so much due to your outstanding balance. The amount is not for the full year, just until your annual review as expected increase for the winter & to claw back the balance1 -
1 storage heater in living room and 1 in bedroom, again i have no idea why my outstanding balance is so high I'm quite good at conserving energy and making sure things are switched off.Curiousgirl1 said:

You need to contact your energy company & get your account changed so your being billed on a 2 rate meter not a 1 rate.Silverlining28 said:

Sorry just to add this is a brand new block of 9 flats, we all moved in around January.
Brother says as its a brand new flat the meter shouldn’t be anywhere near 2755. He uses about 100kwh a month at his flat.
I checked the other meters in the block and the flat downstairs is on 5251 😯0
