Thanks for the 'hello', guys
I have been lurking on this thread for the last couple of days and saw that you seemed a pretty harmless and friendly bunch
Looking forward to getting to 'know' you all0 -
haha, im not going there again! I remember swapping sim cards with a male friend, cos i wanted a video saving on my sim card, then he played a video of me doing something dodgy that my boyfriend had videod. Ive never been so embarassed in my life!!!!!
......I'll PM you my mobile number, you can forward it on.0 -
Go Hanna!
Vix, thats pretty bad about the phone thing. I remember when i used to work in a restaurant one of the lads threw me his phone to 'see a picture of his ex'. Only her gynae would have recognised her. eeewwwww!
Ajax, cool idea for a poll but it might have to have about amillion options. I really like your current Blackwell quote because I do!
Hi Oldmacdonald! Hope you have fun here!0 -
Hi OldMcDonald and Tulip, nice to see ya! I think we're pretty harmless if you can handle the boys' innuendos and we're definitely friendly and v helpful!
There's no need to tell us anything you don't feel comfortable with and you don't need to set a goal for yourself unless you want to.
Anic, you do whatever feels right for you. If achieving your mini-goal feels great and you're happy to deal with whatever your next WI is (and we'll be there to help of course) then I say absolutely, go for it! You're14st 12 for your 40th, well done you!! :T Your weekend sounded perfect.
Sorry, live too far south for those walks but perhaps you could join the Ramblers Association? Not as awful as it sounds honestly!
I'm having a similar problem trying to keep up with the threads - I don't tend to go into the GC so much now and just concentrate on here, 4K and Simplify. You can't do everything but those 4 challenges seem to work really well together for me.
Have a good day all xx
I like the poll idea too Ajax, nice one! How's Mrs A? And well done to Hanna! See, today's not going so well already, forgetting things! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hey, gorgeous peeps
It's been bucketing down here this morning. Yuck. School walk was more like a school swim.
Starlight, fab that you stayed the same without counting points! That bodes well for once you get to the maintain stage.
Victory, glad your photos turned up! Enjoyed your summary of that article. I'm all for doing things out of my comfort zone and the results can be surprising. For example, the idea of going to the gym never appealed to me at one point! It can also be very MSE - such as tackling jobs around the house instead of getting someone in to do them! How are you feeling today by the way? Hope things are better.
Jenpoptab, things are bound to be a bit all over the place with breastfeeding and weaning. I don't know about you or anyone else on here, but all the time I was breastfeeding I felt like my body wasn't really my own? I hope your not stressing too much about being slightly over goal at the moment, cos those baby days are so special!
Serendisglair, ooh dilemma! If it was me I'd go for the 14, but I thrive on pressure and I'm a very goal-orientated person. If this doesn't sound like you, the 16 is probably the wiser choice. Others have offered good advice about the 16 too, so now it's up to you! If it's any help, I've dropped a full 3 dress sizes in 8 months. Let us know what you decide!
Bails, car was certainly a bargain! Sounds like the cleaning job was a workout in itself. What is "NSD" in your sig? I probably should know
Hello Lucygotit, welcome! It's great that you and your daughter both want to lose weight, as you can work as a team and really support each other. I'm a "go it alone" person with careful eating, calorie counting and lots of exercise. I'm not local to you otherwise I would jump at the chance of meeting up for walks.
KPC, too right about body image being more of an issue for teenagers (and even younger) these days. Very sad how appearance seems to take priority over health.
Petrichor, I'm laughing at the jogging in the post officeMy son and I do stuff all the time, hurdling barriers, balancing along rails, we get all sorts of looks from the "tsk, tsk" brigade. You can get away with quite a lot when there's a kid with you
In the summer I sometimes micro-scoot to his school so he can scoot back while I run. I see other mothers carrying the microscooters to school... I bet they would rather ride them too
Anic, loved reading your post about your trip. Laughing so much at the game of "medical top trumps" going on in the bus :rotfl:
Broke mum - congrats on the weight loss so far! Good luck with the £4k challenge too, that's a tough one for sure. HannaB, congrats on yours too, what a great start you've had!
Tulip, welcome to you too! Also hello OldMcDonald and anyone else I've missed as I haven't been around much over the weekend.
Suggs, how about a weekly poll that says something like "this week i have a) lost weight b) stayed the same c) gained weight", to get a snapshot of how we are doing as a team? (Is it even possible to change the poll weekly or is it only one poll per thread?)
If we do Ajax's suggestion please could we include "there are no major obstacles!" Like everyone, I had things that slowed me down, but nothing was major enough to get in the way of me achieving goal eventually. I know I am one of the lucky ones in that respect, but I'd like to see that one on there if possible.
Phew finally caught up!0 -

......that's something that's always confused me. Women are wonderfully aesthetically pleasing creatures in the main, but if there's a universally unattractive part of the body, that's it. Airports and ladies' nether regions are not easy on the eye. On the other hand, bums, boobs, faces, hair, even feet in some cases (eww!)..... we men love 'em!!! So how come it's the mixed meat kebab that gets filmed on the phone? I don't understand!!!0 -
Hahahahaha and there I was just about to start planning my lunch!0

.....of course you'e right missyg, that has to be there. It takes a strong mind not to hide behind a major excuse though, and a lot of people will hang onto it like a comfort blanket, a ready-made reason for the latest attempt to go belly up. By encouraging folk to genuinely believe that their (our) excuses/reasons are not insurmountable is the true path to sustainable weight loss in my opinion. People just have to believe it for themselves, like you did.0 -
