They have emailed me stating...
"You'll pay a standing charge of 31.55p per day and 21.15p/kWh for each unit of electricity"
Assume my region must be one of the more expensive ones.
If I set up an account today will they charge me the lower DD prices from the 3rd October? Or will they stiff me for the above prices for 3rd Oct to today?1 -
- When your final bill with Symbio Energy has been produced, we'll transfer any credit balance to your E.ON Next account so don't worry if it's not showing yet.
I would have thought that was clear enough?

Eon Next now not letting me making a card payment so i can give them the extra money I had been holding back, an error message every time i put the amount in and hit Make Payment. Is it working for anyone else?1

So far so good - having set up my direct debit I emailed their 'hi@eonnext.com' address to ask if I could be on standard rate paying the same for all units even though I have an E7 meter - my night usage is not sufficient to make the E7 tariff attractive. I got a response from what I suspect might have been an offshore location, apologizing for the inconvenience - there hadn't been any - and telling me I needed to contact customer services. I thought that was what I had done! Well anyway, as I wanted to avoid phoning if possible I sent a message via Facebook and well within an hour had a message back saying yes of-course, we can do that, no problem at all, and confirming the rate I will be charged which is exactly what I had expected. So the lesson is don't use that email address, but other forms of messaging seem to work fine, and it has all been sorted very quickly.1

I have also tried so that I could clear what I have used to October. I also got an error.

Well I have set up a DD at £75 to start from 10 December, by which time I will be 2 months and 1 week in arrears, but the amount is 25% more than I calculated my charges should be from 3 October to 3 November. The idea being that after 4 payments I will have paid for 5 months, and be catching up. Both Eon Next and I can review the position in April.

Just done my DD for £27.50. I've calculated last 30 days usage to be £34.50 so can increase the DD once get a bill. (Done it lower as I'd imagine increasing is fine, but maybe a ball ache to lower the DD!).
Fingers crossed Eon staff can actually use a calculator and aren't as much of a c##t as Symbio was when it comes to agreeing how much is needed to cover usage.0 -
It doesn't seem sensible to set a DD amount below expected monthly charges, unless you know you have a large credit balance with Symbio which you expect to be applied to the EON Next account. You could join the many people who show up on this forum apparently surprised by a substantial bill with arrears to pay. My expected credit with Symbio is only about £20 which is not much in the grand scheme of things.

Well my summer usage will be more like the £27.50 and like said in previous posts, I've worked out that Symbio overcharged me by £170, but is still to be acknowledged by them or subsequently by Eon. Time will tell. I will either have to argue the toss or it will be sorted out by someone who can use simple maths and knows how decimal places work!0
