Hi @Brambling, It’s a loss for me too: 3.5 lb. In total, it’s 6lb which is the most I’ve lost this year. Generally, I’ve lost up to 5lbs and promptly put it back on again. This group is really helping with my motivation!»The road to DF is long and bumpy » Greensaints4

I hope you're feeling better soon Brambling.

Brambling, that's why a low carb diet never works for me. Yes, I lose the weight, but the slightest upset, bad day, cold weather, an R in the month, or any other weak excuse sends me back to carbs in a big way.. I not only stuff them down to make me feel better now, but also to make up for all the deprivation I've suffered, and to prepare for all the grim time to come when I have to pay penance.
Yoyo dieting, here we come.
I'm not losing pounds dramatically, but I am losing a few ounces here and there and standIng still the rest of the time. And Im eating bread, potatoes, biscuits chocolate............just in small amounts AND (this is the crunch) stopping when I'm no longer hungry..
I think that is what takes the will power. That's where the mouthwash comes into its own
Anyway, just in case you were wondering, I can record another STS.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna - I also don't follow a low carb diet but I do have a love hate relationship with wheat unfortunately as I love fresh bread but my body doesn't agree it's a good idea to eat it. It's probably inherited as I have a couple of sisters with the same issues. I do have a great niece and nephew who are coeliac so I'm lucky it seems to be just a intolerance which has gotten worst with the menopause. I can look at bread and gain a couple of lbs along with other more unpleasant side effects. When I'm not 100% it's bread based food, crackers or even cereal I want as I tend to go off other food (and with that lovely thick toast comes butter
). I don't buy gluten free i usually just avoid it or have in small doses
Like you I try not to cut out any food group when dieting as you end up yearning for it even more but I have my weaknesses, cheese, chocolate and crisps to name but a fewand limited will power after 40 plus years of on / off dieting I know all the theory it's just putting it into continuous practice I have a problem with
I find a old SW plan from when i went 10 - 12 years ago does work for me when I do it probably and that has no restrictions on rice, potatoes, pasta etc just with bread and cereal
