I have been looking around for a approved day 2 testing kit for the cheapest price but nothing coming up. What sites are people using? i need to book one in the next few days. thanks
I think I mentioned this on another post but you don't need to have bought the day 2 test before you leave the UK. You can only fill in your return passenger locator form within 48hrs of your flight to the UK so you need to be able to get online. You can order the day 2 test kit just before filling in the PLF as the number you need comes with the order confirmation email not the kit. That way, if the UK switch to Lateral Flow before you return you can buy the LF test kit.
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

I ordered a Randox Day 2 home test kit on Monday and it arrived the next day. Return is via a dropbox near me.

However this puts you at risk of the confirmation email failing to arrive (in time).

Order confirmation? That's all you need but I accept that for some people it will be a worry too far.

Thank you, I worry about the small things and don't want to get too stressed while away, I am ordering in the next day or so Randox has a drop of box near me

Yes, within a couple of minutes. Just be careful that you need the booking ref starting RANDX which is in the email and not the order number which is in the email subject.

What happens if you don't take the test when you get back and how quickly ?

According to legislation you are at risk of fines and prosecution.

On a moral level, in a worse case scenario someone could die as a result of a positive case coming into the UK and not isolating. We need to think about more than ourselves in this situation.

If you have not got to take it until two days after returning and shortly not got to take a test before coming back won't the damage have already been done in the intervening period ?

Possibly some but what if you contract it on a packed plane? If you do test positive then test and trace might alert those who were sitting near you which is why you need your seat number for the PLF.
