  • Another nice day weather wise and suprisingly warm.

This morning we went to the ice cream farm, but as I'm doing SW we just had coffee which was really nice.  Had a walk round and looked at the little piggies, they are so cute.

After that a quick trip to Sainsbogs to get some salad stuff.

Then the afternoon spent sewing with my friend.

Breakfast was scrambled egg, lunch tuna and spring onion and lettuce sandwich and tonight its leek and potato bake with chicken and some veggies.

  • Weather awful today, very windy and driving rain.

DH has had to go to London for a couple of nights as MIL is not too well.  I think its just a matter of time now - she is 93 and suffering badly with alzheimer's so has had no quality of life for the last few years.

Breakfast was muffin with bacon and tomatoes, lunch carrot soup and tonight I'm having the last of the cheese and potato bake with chicken and salad.

To keep busy I'm sorting the final bits of pieces for the exterior of the dolls house, just the collanades, windows and brickwork to do on the outside and chimney stacks and then brickwork paper to be put on - which DH will work through next week.

This afternoon I'll do a bit of OU study, tidying up and I might put the washing machine on - will be horse drying though!

  • Thanks for the comments re MIL, much appreciated.

A slightly better day weather wise.

I went out to the big town this morning (57 mile round trip - so I need to make sure that I make the most of it). Stopped off at a garden centre and had a toasted teacake (my guilty pleasure)!  I have counted it into my SW diet.  I called in at Hobbycraft - main reason for trip - to buy some fabric glue and some wool.  I also called into the Iceland there and got some SW food - chips (yes I know I can make my own), but its handy to have some in the freezer, plus some sausages and a couple of cook in type sauces.

I've also done a bit more OU study and some odds and ends of housework and tidying up.

Breakfast was berries and natural yoghurt, lunch the teacake and then some salad at home.  Tonight I'm trying out the SW chips with sausage and mushy peas and poached egg.

    Happy October!

    Weather a bit dreary today.

This morning I've made two soups which should last us a couple of weeks - pea and ham and carrot and pepper.

I've also done a bit of model making for my dolls house - making a three panel screen.

This afternoon I'll be knitting, doing a bit of sewing and watching TV.

Brunch was a SW sausage patti (was oK but I won't buy them again), mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled egg and baked beans. Tea tonight will be prawn stir fry with noodles and I'll have some fruit and yoghurt as pudding.

This morning I did some of my OU course.  It officially starts on 7 October, but I wanted to get ahead if possible.

I made some SW humous - which is really nice.

Some housework done and a fair bit of knitting - I'm knitting a pink cardigan for myself.

Breakfast was tomatoes, scrambled eggs and mushrooms, lunch pea and ham soup and tonight we had sardines on toast with salad and some of the humous.  I also took a meringue nest and added some berries and banana and topped with yoghurt for a pudding.  I really need to stick with SW.  I lost 3 lbs last week.  12 more weigh ins till Christmas, so if I can lose at least a pound a week I will have lost a stone by Christmas.

Weather lovely and sunny today after a very foggy/misty start.

My OU course has kicked off now, with a tutorial first thing this morning.  I am enjoying it so far - lots to think about and to get to grips with

Quick run into town to go to the library and collect some books I ordered (to do with my course).

A bit of planning around our couple of days away next week - meeting up with a friend and going to the theatre and on way home meeting up with my brother.  We are also planning to do a few NT properties as well.  I'll be taking some of the tuna salad packed lunches as they are so handy as don't need to be kept in the fridge and they are quite low and good for the SW diet as well - so money saving and losing weight :)

Breakfast was berries and yoghurt, lunch home made veggie soup and wholemeal muffin and dinner tonight is meatballs and pasta.

This morning we spent a lot of time on the dolls house - am determined that it will be finished well at least the exterior and the lighting by Christmas.  I painted the windows and DH did some more construction on the outside.

After lunch we went to the cinema and saw The Great Escaper - a really nice film which we both enjoyed.

Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch veggie soup and dinner when we got back from the cinema was sausage, egg and oven chips cooked the SW way.

Its absolutely bucketing down now!  Tomorrow morning I've got my weigh in at SW - I've not been so good this week, so fingers crossed I get away with it!

Lovely day today despite the fact we had a yellow weather warning for rain!!

This morning most of it was spent on OU study - I got carried away and didn't have my breakfast till lunchtime!  I guess that's a good sign that I am enjoying it.  Wasn't all study as I joined a "drop in chat" for about 20 mins - its nice to talk to like minded people and get some tips about the OU.  I am also learning new computer skills as I can now communicate via MS Teams.  I did have to buy a webcam with a built in microphone, but I got one from Argos for around a tenner so not bad and it means I can participate in stuff.

This afternoon we went out to an NT property and had a walk around and a cuppa.  The sun was shining, but there is a definite nip in the air.

Breakfast was overnight oats and tonight it's curry night :)
