Its nice to have a proper working area for computer and stuff. My DH has a proper computer upstairs and I have a laptop. At the moment I move it all over the place and none of it is the "right" place as not comfy, but after we decorate the kitchen and get the radiator moved, there will be room for a larger table, so I will be set up down there, which is much warmer in the winter than going in the dining room or lounge.

Well, the weather has turned today - very windy and non stop rain. The garden definitely needed it, we had a lot of brown patches on the lawn and now the pond has filled up again.

We had to take a parcel to the post office and I also bought some spuds and milk for the weekend.

Back home and just been doing a bit of sewing and had a tidy around.

I'm off out tonight with two girlfriends - we are going to a local independent burger bar and then to Spoons for some drinks - DH is taking me and picking me up.

Breakfast was bacon and eggs and a late lunch of sardines on toast.  DH will have fishcake for his tea.

Did some washing this morning, managed to hang it out, but then it started raining!  Most of it is dry now though.

I made some scones and we had two with cream and jam in place of lunch!

The weather changed again in the afternoon and DH and I walked down and had a drink a the pub and sat outside which was nice.

Breakfast was bacon and eggs and dinner was leftover Chinese beef from the freezer with mash and veggies.

Today we saw the latest Mission Impossible film - really enjoyable escapism.  After that we called in at Spoons and had the steak night deal.

After breakfast of cereal, a bit of housework done, then out to see the film, calling in at Sainsbogs to get a bit of shopping (and also snacks for the cinema).

Sounds like a nice relaxing day. You're the 2nd person today I've heard has been to see the film. Sounds like it popular. Its nice when you can go on a week day and its not crowded.

  • So am I correct in saying that at the moment your income is OH state pension and two private pensions, one for partner and one yours?
I like how the two of you spend your time on various activities and the daily varied menus!

Yes, that's correct.  The turning point was when we were able to pay our mortgage off.

Productive day today.  I did some decluttering into a bag for the charity shop and DH sorted out the garage.  We then made a trip to the tip with the garage rubbish, the bag into the chazzer and I also called into the library to collect two books I had ordered.

We had so much credit in our Electricity account that I requested a refund of £200 – that came in this morning and we promptly used it to order £250 worth of heating oil.  They have now lowered our electricity DD which I am really pleased about.

Back home we had a late lunch of yellow stickered burgers with some defrosted frozen mash and green beans.  For supper its crab paste and cucumber open sandwiches with some crisps.  Breakfast was toasted teacakes.

Was so nice and sunny that we walked down to the pub and had a drink and sat outside.

Lovely and sunny today.   First off we walked into the village to collect our prescriptions, then to the farm shop for some flour then to the café for breakfast of toasted teacake and coffee.

After that we decided to make the most of the weather and go out on the motorbike.  I grabbed sausage rolls from the freezer.  I batch cooked some a few weeks back and froze them in 3’s (2 for DH and 1 for me).  Also some water.  We had a lovely ride out and a walk along a beach and back and then had our picnic lunch looking out to sea – by that time the sausage rolls had defrosted.

On the way home we stopped at Sainsbogs for a few bits and pieces.

This afternoon we sat out in the garden.

DH then cooked a stir fry for dinner on the Cadac.
