Happy March and to celebrate I’m having an NSD.
Again, very cold here today with a really biting wind. I don’t think I’ll go out for my walk today unless the sun starts shining – very cloudy at the moment.
A few more payments into the account today, so another small money shuffle done. I’ve saved the council tax money for this month as we are going away mid month for one night to visit a dolls house exhibition/fair. I’m looking forward to it and know that I will be spending a bit on dolls house stuff, plus accommodation (already booked but not paid for) and food for eating out.
Some usual household bits already done/to be done, hoovering etc.
I’ve finished my crochet blanket so have now started a shawl. Struggling a bit with the stitches but I will get there! I’m self taught to knit and crochet, but haven’t done any crochet for a few years.
Breakfast was toasted muffin. I have planned tagine for later but DH has been away for a few days (all expenses paid as he is doing voluntary work) and is due back today. Not sure what time he will be in or whether he will want food, so we may just have sandwiches if he had a big lunch – so a flexible dinner tonight! I will have a ham salad for lunch.

Cold here as well, and high chance of rain, but I managed to get back from the shops in the dry. I was hoping March would be a nice warm month.....not looking that way so far.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Last night a neighbour dropped 2 cauliflowers round!
This morning we met friends for breakfast at the garden centre. DH and I had toasted teacakes. We also stopped at Sainsbogs for a few bits and pieces. I noticed that the cauliflowers there were tiny – the ones the neighbour gave us were 3 times the size at least, and they were 85p in Sainsbogs. The cauliflowers would have been picked yesterday, so will last a few days. I did buy some macaroni in Sainsbogs and plan to make some macaroni cauliflower cheese over the weekend.
Lovely and sunny today although still cold – we are planning a trip to the pub late afternoon/early evening then when we get back we’ll have ham, egg and oven chips for tea. I have a pack of ham to use up so this should make a nice meal and something we haven’t had for quite a while.

Saturday and Sunday both NSDs.
Today we visited our local NT property. While there I dropped off a bag of books at the second hand bookshop. We also had coffee and Danish pastry (for breakfast) and a lovely walk around the grounds.
We bought a couple of plants. This afternoon spent gardening and doing some washing.
Breakfast was the pastry, lunch crackers and mackeral pate and tonight we had pasta carbondara with home made pasta and some leftover pork from yesterday’s roast.

Lovely and sunny today. Walked to the village and met a friend for coffee in the café.
Kitchen floor mopped and bathrooms cleaned.
This afternoon my friend is coming round for sewing and gossip.
Breakfast was beans on toast, lunch mackeral pate on crackers and tonight its stir fry, using the last of the roast pork up.

Sounds like a good day. That's reminded me, I've still got to clean my kitchen floor...lolMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Horrible day today, very wet and drizzly, misty rain. Temp has been around 10 degrees but it feels really cold.
I haven’t been out today. Morning was spent fixing the blind in our bedroom – it’s a Roman blind and some of the cords had come loose, so that was a sewing project for me. While I did that DH cleaned the window frame and got rid of some mould that was on there. All back together now and nice and squeaky clean.
Breakfast was porridge with honey, lunch was using up some crackers and the rest of the mackeral pate. Dinner tonight was some leftover chicken with home made Bombay potatoes with naan bread and some small poppadoms and mango chutney.

Productive day today.
Firstly to the garden centre where we got the final few plants for the rockery. Came home and planted them out.
Dropped a bag off at the charity shop after doing a small declutter in the kitchen
Renewed home and contents insurance at a saving of £57 by changing supplier on compare the market.
Managed to order a free water butt from South West Water - up to 20 week delivery but am glad I got the order in. They had them last year but I was too late and when I tried to order they were "sold" out.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch a scone at the garden centre and tonight it’s the rest of the steak pie with home made wedges and asparagus (yellow sticker at the supermarket).
We noticed the cost of petrol had dropped by 3p at our local Sainsbogs, now down to £1.46 so filled the car up as we are going away Friday morning early.
