My friend cancelled our coffee meeting as she wasn’t feeling too well.  Instead DH and I went to Dobbies for breakfast and our two free hot drinks as we belong to the Dobbiles Club.  We also bought some bark for the garden.

We then went to M&S and I bought a pair of sandals – not vey MSE, but they are lovely I think and they were £25 so not bad at all – considering they had some more which weren’t as nice for £49.50 (I suspect those were leather).

On the way home we picked up another box of frozen cooked pasties this time chicken – was delighted to find that the person who packed the box couldn’t count there were 11 instead of 10 for £15.  We will have two tonight.

Too wet to do the garden today, so hopefully that will be tomorrow.

One of the pensions was paid last night so did a bit of a money shuffle first thing.

I am now knitting a blanket with different heart shaped patterns and its coming along well.

Another horrible wet day so no gardening done.

I sent off for a free water butt a couple of weeks ago and apparently it has now been posted second class, but they are still saying it could take 20 weeks!  I just need to decide where we will put it.

Not too much done today and a bit of naughtiness – we went to a local chocolate factory and had hot chocolate with all the trimmings of blackforest syrup, marshmallows and cream.  Was delicious.  I also bought a few chocolates too.

Breakfast was pancakes with sugar and lemon, we had cooked lunch of sausage casserole topped with mash and for supper salmon sandwiches.

Looking forward to watching Race Across the World tonight.

Again very windy and threatening rain so will leave the gardening.

    Usual housework done.

Off to my friends this afternoon for our sewing and gossip session.

Breakfast was pancakes left over from yesterday, lunch soup and tonight its another Jamie Oliver frying pan pizza – the first one work well, but this time I will use 200g SR flour instead of the 250g he used as we felt the base was too thick.  I’m going to top it with tuna and prawns – but once the base is cooked will pop it under the grill as we found that the top was cold last time.  But, this recipe is definitely a keeper, so easy to make and so quick to cook.

Update  the sun came out and the water butt arrived.  DH went outside and has now installed the butt.  Also took advantage and put the bark on the flower beds.  sun now gone in and of course, I want it to rain so I can check that it starts to fill the butt!!!

Just catching up. The visit to the chocolate factory sounds interesting.  Sun came out here in the end as well which is good. I have lots of gardening stuff I need to get on with. All the rain has made the weeds start to grow though!

It rained all night and when DH checked this morning the water butt was full – should have ordered the bigger one!

We met friends for lunch at a nearby hotel £15 per person for fish, chips & peas plus a glass of wine or prosecco or pint.  Was delicious.

We didn’t have any breakfast and supper tonight will be hot cross bun if we need it!

One of my NY resolutions was to try on the many clothes I have shoved in a suitcase that don’t fit.  In fact half of them haven’t fitted for at least 6 years.  Soooo – I tried them on this morning and have filled a bag for the chazzer.

Also this morning I’ve done quite a bit of sewing/altering/mending of my clothes.

When checking the banking I noticed that the Nationwide cash back offer for using the card in the supermarket has gone in, so that has been put in the holiday pot.

Breakfast was scrambled eggs and lunch/dinner is sweetcorn and chickpea curry found at the back of the freezer – I’ll add some tomatoes and have it with rice and naan and DH will make some poppadoms which we will have with mango chutney.

That reminded me to check and see if I had the NW cashback thing, but looks like I didn't spend enough last month in the qualifying shops. Will try harder this month.

Today I’ve changed the bedding and done two loads of washing and have been able to line dry both lots.

I’ve also made 6 portions of lasagne, we had two portions for tea tonight with garlic bread.

Online shop was delivered.  Eggs must be in shortage again as they were the only items not to be available.

We went to the pub late afternoon/early evening.
