DH has been painting the kitchen chairs today from white to orange to match the blinds.

This morning I visited my friend for coffee and sewing.

This afternoon DH and I went to a lavender farm where we had a lavender scone cream tea – was really delicious.

Breakfast was toast, lunch the cream tea and tonight its sausage casserole and mash.  In the casserole with the sausages are onions, turnip and carrots – all grown in the garden.

Today we had to order some gas – we don’t have mains gas, so need a big gas bottle for the oven hob (the actual oven is electric).  Ordered this morning and delivered 2 hours later - £84.99 for delivery and installation – the last one lasted us 3 years, so this one should too – so not a bad buy!

This afternoon I had to go for an X ray of my hip – I had a hip replacement 3 years ago.  Everything is fine as I don’t have any pain and can walk/run etc.  I should have the results back in a few days, so fingers crossed all is well.

Breakfast was toast, lunch sandwiches and dinner was spinach and lentil pie.

Not updated for a couple of days.  Busy getting ready for DS and his friends who arrive on Thursday.  We are going away for a couple of nights to Devon Friday and Saturday night – taking a trip on the new motorbike.

Breakfast was toast, lunch sandwiches and tonight we had fish and chips takeaway.

I ordered some new frames for my glasses from the opticians today.  I didn’t have an eye test as its not due and my eyes haven’t changed, however, I did want some new frames.  My justification is I have had these ones for 4 years and my glasses are the last thing I take off at night and the first thing I put on in the morning.  They came to £258 and that was with an over 60’s discount L  The problem is they are varifocals and I also hav them thinned – if I didn’t I would be looking out of milk bottle bottoms J  Not very mse but I was so desperate for new frames.

I’m out tonight with my friend, we are going to a book launch.  I am looking forward to it and will put on a nice dress and my posh red shoes plus a nice red handbag.

Breakfast was toast, lunch flan and tonight its fishcake and veg.

We had a great couple of days away in Devon. DS and all his mates have now gone home – they left the place very tidy.  They also left loads of food – even though I begged them to take it with them. So, I won’t have to buy pasta, rice or porridge for at least 2 months.

They also bought me a lovely Harvey Nicholls hamper with lots of nice goodies in it.  The hamper itself will be great for me to store my fabrics in.

So some tidying up this morning and saying goodbyes.

Breakfast was toast, lunch some bits and pieces and dinner tonight will be pasta with cheese and veggies.

As usual I am struggling with my NSDs.  Today I popped to the village and bought eggs, ham and some sausages.  However, I didn’t go to the café for my usual coffee and toasted teacake.

Breakfast was croissant, lunch ham and tomato sandwich and tonight we had a bbq – supper will be a bread and butter pudding I made earlier (why I needed the eggs).

I have been around the house and am now turning off electrical appliances at the wall in an attempt to make a saving – we will see.

I must admit I am now struggling with the heat.  Our poor lawn is very brown, bare looking and crispy underfoot.  We have no hosepipe ban as yet, but are being really careful with the watering.

Didn’t sleep at all well last night, despite all the open windows it is very hot and sticky.  Hopefully tonight will be better – although I have just watched the local forecast and apparently we have an extreme heat warning from Thursday – Sunday.

Most of the day I spent re-organising my craft room, chucking loads of stuff out and filling 3 bags (yes 3) for the charity shop.  It was also spent “resting” in between as I am still struggling with the heat.  I am pleased with the result – perhaps another hour and the room will be perfect – I can see where everything is, and know where everything is.

Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch was ham salad, tea tonight was pasta with courgettes and some leftover sausage from our BBQ two nights ago.  Later while I’m watching Masterchef we’ll have our pudding of a home made Victoria sandwich cupcake with icing on top.

Just went out this afternoon for my yearly check up on blood pressure/lifestyle which happens as I’m on blood pressure medication.

Must try and post more often.

Well the weather has turned a bit cooler, quite windy and a smattering of light rain.

Today I drafted a new dress pattern and have started to sew the dress.  I was very pleased as I got the material from Hobbycraft and it was reduced to £4 per metre.  So a real bargain.

    Some hoovering also done.

Breakfast was croissant, lunch sandwiches and tonight it’s the second half of the home made meat pie with some oven chips and veggies.

Just relaxing now with a cuppa and a piece of cake.  I think this afternoon I’ll watch a bit of telly and do some knitting.
