You could try contacting Grace Gausden and also Ofgem. Octopus have said they are waiting on a decision from Ofgem so perhaps Ofgem can clarify this point.

Good work by Grace Gausden, she has got a statement from Octopus confirming that the balance of in flight customers will be reimbursed regardless of the outcome of the ongoing Ofgem investigation: https://inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/money/bills/ofgem-investigates-whether-octopus-should-pay-credit-to-customers-who-were-switching-to-avro-when-it-went-bust-1607934

The Octopus Avro page has been updated, mention of the Ofgem investigation has been removed, and replaced with:
If you were midway through your switch to Avro when they went into administration (before they started supplying you power but after you’d already had a payment taken). Please don't worry, your credit balance is safe.

Thanks for keeping us updated with the developments on this.  I'm sure some people were very worried at the thought of waiting more months for their credit balances to transfer.

I have read we should all have the payment taken prior to being on supply with Avro credited back by the end of next week.  If not to contact Octopus.  We may have reached the beginning of the end!

Indeed, on initially thinking this Ofgem investigation would add several months more on to the wait, I believe all my issues have now been resolved.

My balance history and meter reading history pages now look good, all that remains to be seen is whether my next bill is correct.

I finally received a refund today, after 7 months and multiple mistakes and corrections by Octopus.

Anyway, best of luck to those still waiting.

Same here. Just got a final bill from Octopus just now. I know this must have been an arduous task for them however, like you, it's felt a bit shambolic in the last few weeks to be honest. I feel i have pretty much hand held them through the process in the last 3 weeks or so and given them all the information they need and they've still managed to get it wrong slightly to my benefit it must be said but it's a neglible amount of money.

I owed them for energy costs (gas and electic)  between 27th September and 6th October and provided readings for these dates and they've only billed me for standing charges for Electric for the above period. I just get the impression they're fed up now and my payment to them was only very small anyway.

However, having said all that, i do accept that the Avro administrators and regulator probably haven't help matters here either.

They've now got my bank details so i do hope that'll be that then.

ps- just to add i never did open an account with Octopus

That's Octopus been in contact today giving me my final final bill this time!! I say that because they sent me a final bill about a month ago.

There were 3 emails today. One with my final final bill. Then a request for my bank details and to set up a direct debit which they use to credit me. Then an apology for saying they had my bank details which i sent them a month ago and i didn't need to do anything and monies will be with me in 10 days!! Time will tell!!

    I'm saying nothing!! B)

Got a cheque today from Octopus for my Avro final balance so give or take a couple of days that took about 9 months from Avro sinking!!

I'm really glad that it wasn't for a large amount and that i wasn't desperate for the cash!! For years now i've never let a big credit build with any energy company and this experience has just convinced me to carry on doing that. I accept that's not for everybody that's wanting a large credit going into winter.

Info for Avro customers that were in mid switch away from them when they went into administration. The last time I posted on 02/05/2022 that I had just recieved my final bill from Avro. After a lot of emails to Avro/Octopus, Octopus have finaly produced their final bill today 2 months later, with a promise of a refund by the 18/07/2022.  Am I the last to be paid due to keep chasing them?
