And that is it we are technically debt free and I suppose we could have been since Friday when wages went in if we'd  manually transferring funds instead of waiting for today's SO to go into savings. As of today our savings towards this final debt are £7800. The outstanding CC amt is £8005 leaving £205 still to be paid off. £100 min amt goes to the CC company via DD each month. The 0% deal is up mid September. By then £300 ( 3 x £100)  will have been paid off so outstanding amount will be £7705, this amount less than we already  have savings to pay it off for.
Strictly speaking we still have a couple of hundred £s to go till it is completely gone but everything is in place to make it so. We are unlikely to pay this card off much before the 0% deal stops as we intend keeping savings in interest bearing accounts until the last minute.

DH said yesterday that even last year he was thinking we'd still got a long way to go but also when we sit down each month like we did this weekend and go through the details of the CB CC and decide which account pays for what and pay in full each time avoiding interest charges and manage paying with  a CC far better than we did in the past gives him a 'buzz' . There was more on the CB CC than I'd prev realised because things we'd paid for in America were on it. I'm ok with accepting family events that happened in May made me forgot about this and comfortable with our spends whilst there.

I have transferred a 2nd months equv rent for DS into my savings acc. This month I need new glasses, DH needs to send his passport off for renewal and depending on how long it takes to come back will depend on where we take DS for a mini-break. I'll book a long w/end off but DH intends booking longer to do various household type jobs/admin inc taking DS for legal advice.

If I'd not  been  offered  a permanent position, this week would be my final week. Very grateful to not be back job hunting.

Thank you. The £100 DD has gone out to pay the CC today leaving a £7905 balance to pay against £7800 of savings, giving an outstanding balance of £105.

We attended DH's Godson's wedding over the w/end. Weather was beautiful, so ceremony outside. Just looked through our bank statement online, drinks cost us a fair bit plus we contributed halves to the meal the prev night that the bride and groom joined us for along with groom's parents our friends). Might have to have a juggle around with the bank account later this month to take this into consideration.

Feeling this month being a 5 week one! It has been quite spendy with attending the wedding, and DH going out more to watch football and once we have physically paid off the CC we will relook at the budget and include  one for socialising to cover such events. I realised my eye prescription had changed and made an appt for new glasses, turns out a need 2 pairs, varifocals and another for screen work. I will be picking these up next week. Was going to use my wages to pay but they offered a DD plan that came with extras included and was only £4 in total more than me paying it off in full and not having the extras.

This weekend we booked our flight tickets for me to accompany DH on his next works trip to America in September. We also booked to take DS away for a mini break next month. The trip is around the time of what would be his 1st wedding anniversary and to hopefully give him some different enjoyable memories. We are driving the ferry was cheap considering it's school hols, accommodation was limited and the hotel the night before the ferry is proving expensive - mostly cos we need 2 rooms. DH going to continue to look today.

DD went and had her ADHD assessment and the Dr said he could  sign her off the following day confirming she has ADHD  through her assessment results but he wishes her to have further assessments to see if there is anything else too. He said not only do girls mask more but those who have studied acting from a young age (she was 10) are even more capable of masking. I don't feel it will be downhill from here more that we have at long last got to the end of a very long road but have finally found the foot of the mountain to climb. At least now we have had it confirmed that she has a neuro-behavioural condition which has been debilitating for her at times and  constantly affecting her life.  DD found a job in a local bar but since the footie final they have been messing her around with shifts and me and her both suspect they took her on purely whilst the Euros were on. At least she has some money though to last her until she returns to her course.

Better get to work. It is horrendously busy and no sign of calming down anytime soon!

Can DD apply for PIP after her diagnosis?

Oohhh that's an interesting question I'd not considered, I don't know tbh. I'm aware her drama school have asked her as and when she is offically diagnosed if she will register for something (disabled students allowance??) though that wouldn't give her actual cash, she could receive help in other ways and also get help like being allowed more time for assignments

Definitely worth looking into, if it can help her .

Still a long way to payday - Wed next week. Good news is DH was able to use his loyalty points for a hotel room in England with a free upgrade to a family room, meaning DS can stay with us night before we set off with no charge - it's literally for a few hours.

Drs came back to DD with the liklihood that she also has autism. She's struggling with this news, ADHD she accepted as highly likely, ASD she hadn't. It's been a long struggle to this place and I do wish there had been more support in various forms over it. Not entirely sure what the next step is.

Just £105 left to pay off the CC, £100 will be paid off automatically on the DD on 8th August, more than £5 is sat in my 'magic' coin purse. It's now more of a choice in deciding the date we will pay it off rather than trying to get there in the first place. Almost at the next stage of the journey.

We are set to go overdrawn tomorrow night out of joint account. I can see it in the online banking.  This is only 2nd time it's happened since we started clamping down on the debt. It's buying groceries food that has put us into the o/draft but the lack of funds has been caused by a 5 week month and  socialising for the wedding at the beginning of the month and DH going out more for the footie. Payday for both of us is Wednesday so we could let this slide for the day or pay it from my wages as I still have some left. We are going to look at the CB CC today too as it's due when we are away (though after payday). Once we have some idea we'll make the decision about the various accounts. DH is also thinking of paying off the  £105 remaining CC debt in one chunk soon rather than let it run to the end of the 0% deal but again we'll make that decision when we overview the accounts.

We went out last night to our friends. They only live in the next village but we got a lift to theirs. They'd told us no need to bring anything as they had plenty in, so had a night of food, drink and pleasant company, then walked back home and total cost was zero. Tonight my Mum is cutting and colouring my hair (she's a mostly retired hairdresser) she refuses to take anything for it so also no cost.

I need to look through what is in food wise because we do still need a top up shop but see how little we can get away with. As I'm adjusting to new glasses - varifocals for the first time, I refused to drive to the shops for ham yesterday (DD recently gone back to eating meat about 8 years vegetarian) so came up with the idea of putting a rasher of bacon in (I booked first) the toastie for her lunch and it worked really well with cheese and mushrooms.
