Morning all,
Oooh @Fayolle, how are you finding it? I have only read the first one - I am reading a combination of Sarah Waters and Stacey Halls down for some lighter historical fiction before I return to Hilary Mantel.
Flying one from me - beds made and sprayed, DW done, other bits WUPA. Eggs to deliver on the way to school so we had better make tracks. Meeting not until later in the week so trying to remain calm about that.
Someone on the prepping thread has mentioned a Kelly Kettle, so I am saving my egg money for that now. Will really help with energy bills as I boil a lot of water.
Take care all, back later xx10 -

Morning Afternoon all. I have been lurking rather than posting because I thought I didn't have much to report. However, looking back, some progress has been made. More of that later...
But first, enormous (((hugs))) to Round, and multitudinous coping vibes for the shocks you've had this past week xx Glad to hear that your DB is getting sorted. If it's any consolation, a few years ago, following a TIA, my DH had a scan which showed scars from a much older major stroke that should have affected his walking, but neither he nor anyone else had ever noticed anything untoward. (Mind you, he is notoriously unobservant about anything other than railways!)
Daily coping vibes to asb, Fayolle, YL, pigpen and everyone else in need - not forgetting more (((hugs))) for dancemum and well done to your DS1 on providing you with an excuse for a great celebration.
This morning I have cleaned all through downstairs. My bedroom and the bathroom are also tidy, but there are lumps of Rosie's hair all over the study bedroom carpet, in the spaces between the growing piles of paperwork which is causing me much grief atm. They - both the lumps and the piles - will have to stay where they are for now as I am off out this afternoon to visit a friend about a work-related matter (so not entirely for pleasure, but she always puts out nice biscuits with the coffee).
A "Donate" box is currently sitting on the DR table, ready to be taken to the CS. I have been trying to deal with at least one random drawer, shelf or cupboard every day, just re-homing or binning anything for which I have no further use. Yesterday I looked in the kitchen cupboard where I keep small appliances and baking/serving bowls, so - among various other things - the box contains about 6 duplicate cookie cutters (the ones I've kept now fit in a plastic container with a lid, instead of overflowing a large open ice cream tub), my mother's electric nut/coffee bean grinder (which must be at least 30 years old but still works perfectly), and some cast iron mini-casserole dishes which are ridiculously heavy and not dishwasher-proof. I shall never miss any of these, and there is now space in the cupboard to see exactly what is left in there - result!
Right, I have one small admin job to do, then I must get lunch and be ready to leave the house at 1.15. Hope everyone has a peaceful/productive afternoon, whichever you prefer xx

A productive day so far:
dusted the LR and DR whilst DH has left the building. He found out yesterday that they are not to return to the office before the spring at the earliest. I think he will be stir crazy by then. As will I be.Vacuumed downstairs, our bedroom and ensuite.
Mopped the kitchen, utility room, downstairs cloakroom, bathroom and en suite floors.
Cleaned the kitchen bin.Put the hob bits (technical term??) into soak to remove the yuk and grease. Now gleaming.
Played yet another game of Use Up from the Fridge for lunch. More of the same game to follow for dinner.
Been to the allotment for an hour. Weeded a bit, picked out a couple of buckets of stones and brought home some runners, fennel, squash and sweetcorn. Gave some to NNDN.
Next job - finish cleaning the hob so that I can reassemble it. Second load swishing in the wm.
I think that I have played Spoon Tag with Round- thank you for the loan of the spoons whoever you were, please feel free to take them back as I quite fancy a sit down with my book now…9 -
Fun day..I filled under Dots bed with various bits of stuff we need but rarely use. wallpaper, spare pillow, travel cot, DD2's prom dress, sleeping bags/tent and some little boxes of general gibble.I bossed OH to put 3 boxes in the loft from our room.I filled a binbag of stuff to go to DD1'sI found a few bits for CS and put a top of mine in the binI listed 4 items for saleI found another item to post tomorrow which I sold on EbeastI put away 3 piled of laundry and a pile of bedding
OH was bossed to put camping chairs and dog crate in the shedOH loaded the DW, put out the bins, pulled up 1 weed, made lots of tea and lifted and shifted everything while I bossed him mercilessly. I have no shame or guilt, haha
OH also had a sulk because I kept him super busy and apparently he was 'dressed to go to the gym' ... I never noticed *shrug*My bedroom is UTTERLY trashed so I need to deal with that shortly.
The landing is a small amount clearer, not yet functional and still just 'storage'.
I have a list of stuff to get through tomorrow too. So much stuff in my house!! I need to fling all the things!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -

Mainly gardening today as the weather was lovely.
One load through DW.
Various bits of admin done. Paperwork printed off for the first two assessments of the semester; none this week but so far one each for the following two.
Filled bird feeders.
Swapped ideas/reports about Mum with DB, who is with her currently.
Had chat with Amaz00 staff after the advertised two-pack of small lights meant for attaching to dog collars (I wanted to use one for night swimming) arrived with just one light. She gave me a full refund.
Did the Full Moon swim at the lake, fantastic evening - apparently about 155 swimmers which is more than usual. Went with friend and her OH; the men sat and chatted drinking coffee while Cathy and I swam. Followed it with handmade pizza at the lake cafe and toasted marshmallows!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning All,
Narco your evening sounds absolutely delightful xx
Up with the lark (AKA DS!) this morning. He has a "special" P.E. day today so he was in full kit by 5.40am.... he is now having mlk and a slice of toast. DD still in bed. I have showered, finalised pack-ups and fed the chickens.
Today I have eggs to deliver, a book to finish and I may consider doing a load of washing. Will no doubt pop back in later, take care all xx11
