You own a house!!! And a garden!! Sending good vibes for the next few days to be over as quickly as possible so you can start on the nice settling down and making it yours part, rather than the awful stressful cleaning and figuring stuff out and where things are and what’s broken and all the rest part). You’ve earned that wine!Debt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

Oh my gosh. Can't believe the lightbulbs stories! How annoying, esp as you say, dusk was upon you!
Thanks again for all the well wishes and for everyone's support on this journey - you've all been a real support through a very difficult time and I really appreciate it.
Got up for a wee about 1130 and couldn't get back to sleep so just had a nice cup of decaf tea (I don't have tea that often but I love it, nothing better - has to be Yorkshire though).
DH moved some more stuff early evening and we've now made a list of things we need to do tomorrow which I think has helped the focus.4 -

Managed to move quite a lot of stuff yesterday and cleaned a couple of rooms here at the flat. Movers arrive today so I'm going to head to the house around 8 and start unpacking lots of our boxes whilst DH stays here to direct the movers (and think he is planning to help them as he wants to try and get them done asap), put landladys beds back up and cleans oven. Once movers done here, we will swap and he will be at the house to help there and I will come back here and clean. I need to do kitchen (though some of it done - DH did some cupboards last night and I did 1 fridge), 1 bathroom and floors in 2 x bathrooms and kitchen/hall. DH wants to get shampooing the carpets this morning if he can also. I think the aim is to try and get completely done here today so we don't have to spend any time here tomorrow other than meet my friends to read the meter.
Architect came to house yesterday - what we want to do on top floor is more complicated so we have decided to leave that until "phase 2" (so probs in around 5 or so years time) and focus on downstairs. She totally got what we were after and is going to prep a quote for their work. She thinks that we won't be in a position to go out to builders until autumn because of the process we have to follow and then getting builders is difficult so think it will be late 2023 or early 2024 before we see a spade in the ground. But in some ways that's good as gives us a good amount of time to settle in and just live (and we can work on other rooms and the garden in the interim) and then also save more. She thinks we can do it for our budget and has moved us away from orangery style as that's expensive due to being bespoke and wood so needs lots of maintenance so we are looking at Crittall. We also told her our budget was lower than it is.
Spending has been little and often - sausage rolls/croissants from a really nice bakery - but needed to push through!5 -
Spending will ease when your in and settled.
Hopefully it will continue smoothly and by this time next month your able to put the past few years stresses behind you.

WE. ARE. IN.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, it is chaos. And mess. And we literally have so. much. stuff. But, we are in!!!!
Flat took FOREVER to clean. I should've listened to whoever said "get cleaners"!!! Ended up there Fri, Sat and Sun! But we are checked out of there now - though I think I've left some clothes hanging in cupboard so have asked friend if can pop back to get some time.
Heating not working upstairs here, downstairs loo leaking. Shower is TINY and the doors keep falling off and I keep banging my elbows, but it just feels like home! And the kids are SO happy.
DH had all the garden stuff moved from his mum's today - she is relieved to get her garden back! So he is sorting all that out now.
DC2 is poorly and kept us awake since 0130 so we are shattered and I have had to take a dependent's day as he couldn't go to nursery. Took him to the doctors and he has antibiotics - doctor not sure if he actually needs them but is giving as a precaution. Poor love felt very sorry for himself all morning and basically clung to me like a limpet which he rarely does.
Got cat back and he also loves the house even though he can't go out. He's found himself a nice warm spot by the radiator.
Kids play equipment here but isn't going up until next weekend due to weather.
Spending. Hmmmm. Well. Leaving aside the kids play equipment, we have gone over revised budget by some way but not our usual budget. And the main reason we were over the revised budget was due to the 4 new tyres our car needed, or we would not have gone over.
I think I need a new diary but need to find some inspiration!7
