If I remember Jenrick visited the IPC and BPA ??

Luke Hall MP is a junior minister in the MHCLG whose new boss is Mr Gove.

Mr Gove is responsible for MHCLG and the actions of Mr Hall.

It is noted that all the MP's people have written to. none have received a reply from MHCLG
So much for Luke Hall then ?

Mr Gove now has a massive job to sort out all the housing problems and councils, he also has the responsibility to ensure motorists and voters are not abused. He did accept the job after all

This entire thread is way off the mark.

Robert Jenrick was never directly involved with the Code of Practice, and nor will Michael Gove be.

The Minister responsible is Luke Hall: Luke Hall MP - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
    Luke Hall has gone too

That is true.  Luke Hall on twitter said

"It’s been a huge honour to serve as Minister for Regional Growth and Local Government in @mhclg and am proud of all we achieved. Grateful to the excellent team in MHCLG and particularly my superb Private Office.

Looking forward to supporting the Government from the backbenches"

The perfect opening for Sir Greg Knight

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • It seems like we all have to write again to our MP's especially those who wrote to Jenrick.

Now Luke Hall MP has gone, we cannot let this important parking bill go off the radar.

I am today writing again to Mrs May to request information from Mr Gove

I doubt that the BPA will have any swing with Mr Gove as he is a straight talker (as much as any MP can be) .... and given the two sackings in MHCLG, I guess Boris has heard of the wrath of motorists and voters ?

    CONTACT YOUR MP TODAY.

I note another news article from the BPA ...

Councils call for rise in parking penalty charges to protect responsible motorists from selfish parking

    https://www.britishparking-media.co.uk/news/councils-call-for-rise-in-parking-penalty-charges-to-protect-responsible-motorists-from-selfish-parking

This artlicle starts by saying .... New research by the British Parking Association ?

What the BPA are saying is "Put up council car parking charges to match the private industry

Do they really think government will take any notice of them ?
This proves 100% they are against all motorists. Wonder we thought up this wheeze

    The final paragraph says .....

"Andrew Pester, BPA Chief Executive, said: “The findings of this survey reinforces the urgent need to review and raise penalty charges everywhere to encourage compliance with the parking rules. We will continue to work closely with government as well as calling for effective deterrents to inconsiderate parking both on public roads and in private car parks.”

    Such a poor article.

No ... but the implementation of the Parking Bill will be. ;)

Why is he worrying or bashing on about inconsiderate parking on roads?!?  That has got nothing to do with and is beyond his jurisdiction as it often relates to RTA legislation and/or local byelaws!

Gove is known for not messing about so will hopefully shut this lot down with their desperate bleatings!
He is not my favourite MP by a long shot, but isn't worried about being popular so will hopefully make the right changes this time and not suffer fools.

Gove is from the world of journalism I remember correctly and has links with The Mail who his ex-Mrs writes for and have been exposing the world of PPCs and clampers for years so hopefully those investigations and reports will allow him to see the impact on the motorists!  BPA have no right calling for higher local authority charges as its none of their business to tell councils how to run their organisation. Just like they have no right to tell the police how to uphold the law (which is kind of what he is doing when he talks about public roads) or tell Tesco how much they can sell certain goods for!  They are majorly way out of line here.
  • Mr Gove will be under pressure now

This shuffle is for Boris to get voters on his side, Mr Gove must now live up to his convictions

It is indeed sad that the BPA are in denial of their importance. With a code of practice taken away from them, with an independent appeals service taken away from them, the only thing left for the BPA is the subscriptions for many parking scammers which they cannot control.

The BPA are time limited and at present they should stop such propaganga that we see above.
