Received my bonus earlier today.tunde10 said:Haha i love how people who haven't received their £130 are getting nervous.
Just takes patience, as long as you meet criteria, i think majority of us who initiated the switch in Sept, will get in within the next week or so. I initiated mine on 16th Sept-21.1 -
My apologies if this was asked and answered already, but I did try to use search and I hate the new version of the website for search never working! For an existing customer is it OK to avoid going to a branch by applying for a new, second/third, account and switch into it?0

Although the offer terms do state that switching into existing accounts can only be done in branch, it was ascertained early on that doing so by phone is permissible too, via the number for the switching team posted on page 2....grumbler said:For an existing customer is it OK to avoid going to a branch by applying for a new, second/third, account and switch into it?1 -
Yes, my wife originally opened an Everyday Account without realising you can't do an online switch in at a later date, as she hates using the phone and usually fails the security questions she made a branch appointment but subsequently opened a second Everyday Account and switched online with no problems.grumbler said:My apologies if this was asked and answered already, but I did try to use search and I hate the new version of the website for search never working! For an existing customer is it OK to avoid going to a branch by applying for a new, second/third, account and switch into it?1 -

ETA: that said, £20 seems to be an independent bonus simply for opening a new account and, possibly, isn't worth bothering about.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

£130 switching bonus paid today, my switch was initiated on 22/09.1

Speaking from my brother's experience here (He has learning difficulties so I helped him switch, keeping him informed of course)
-Switch from dormant TSB account on 21/09
-01/10 Changed his o2 and Barclaycard DD over
-16/11 Switching incentive paid.
Can't fault Santander at all for speed in his case!2 -
Did the £20 offer (did the £130 offer last month) - might as well be paid for opening a switching account for a potential future switching bonus.0
