So in July this year before the offer replacement cards arrived for my 123lite and everyday account, 123 was MasterCard, everyday was visa. New everyday opened for offer is visa also.Deleted User said:GTR_King said:Oooh well i got the Visa Debit card, Have asked them to order me the mastercard if not no worries will get it some point soonI was surprised to get a short dated Visa Debit too.Internet banking seems clunky and fairly dated. Android app seems functional but definitely nothing to write home about.0 -
Just taken advantage of this offer, full account with Santander and basic with Nationwide, Santander I just use for online stuff, Nationwide my main account
Nationwide wouldn't upgrade my account to a full one, so did the switch, will use Santander as my main account and opened a Halifax account to use for online shopping. Rang up to arrange the switch and it was arranged within 5 minutes, very efficient and never had any issues with Santander0 -
Well my shiny new Santander account is set up and I got to see my account Today. Well that's until I got blocked for making the £1000 switcheroo.Took a while to get to that point as I had to wait some days for my Debit card before I could get my new account number, which allowed my to ask them to send me online access details which I had to wait some more days for.Good job I've got 60 days, as I don't know how long I'll be waiting on this support call
Ah, the joys of MSE switch offer chasing
Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."1 -
Does it matter? VISA or Mastercard are the same AFAIC. I like to have both, just in case one of the networks goes down.GTR_King said:yeah same here but as i said everyday current accounts will be last on list for master cards,
My main banking happens on the Santander app, as I have all my DDs there and they are my hub for transferring to and from two+ dozen accounts each month, with tried and tested payee details. I got, sort of, used to the Santander app, and I rarely ever use their online banking. I absolutely hate their amateurish way of presenting your payee list, and the fact that you can't do everything through the app (e.g. changing SOs needs online banking) but I suppose their DD cashback, coupled with a certain amount of inertia, and a generous dose of 'better the devil you know', have made, and will make, me stick with Santander.GTR_King said:

They have also been very good to me over the years with earnings in the several thousands, and I am still a Select customer according to my shiny new Mastercard and my cherished cheque book that I have been using, or not using, for more than 10 years now. I mean the same cheque book they sent me in 2011, and it's still largely unused. They also paid me copious amount of referral and switching money.
I suppose, for me, Santander are a bit like your husband of 50 years - really exciting for the first few years, then he took you for granted for a while, but never offered rewards to anyone he wouldn't also offer to you, then lost the will to appeal to anyone of the opposite sex and very much hoped to still keep his side of the marital bed as long as he didn't cheat on you. He didn't even buy you flowers once a month any longer, the uber-tight so-and-so. Occasionally, he still felt a bit fruity (those Amazon voucher deals, weren't they simply brilliant!) but nowadays he's just trying for the younger models by offering them £130. Stuff you, old man - either you will pay me £130, too, or I am going to take the tasty bits off to a younger model, too, - like those Chase guys, may be -, and leave you paying me for doing the dreary DD bits. Divorce? May be, eventually. May be not. Remember, it's my choice, not yours.4 -

Agreed mate I asked on twitter will i get my Debit Mastercard before my Visa one expires, Reply was yess should be about 2 weeks before it expires but maybe before that,Deleted User said:GTR_King said:yeah same here but as i said everyday current accounts will be last on list for master cards,

so what's the point in having visa card for few months then changing it lol0 -
Thanks 👍 And is it ok enough to have 2 DDs transferred into the account for the bonus or must two NEW DDs be setup on the account outside of any DDs switched over? This part seems quite ambiguous to me as the t&c is not particularly clear on which is the case? I'm sure it's ok enough to have 2 switched over but the t&c does not make it clear that's ok either!GTR_King said:All you need to do is put £1000 in after that you can do what ever you want with that money0
