******* current employer is going to make me work full 7 week's notice, just glad I got it in last week.7

You can’t be surprised … 🤷♀️🙄edinburgher said:******* current employer is going to make me work full 7 week's notice, just glad I got it in last week.
However, those 7 weeks will pass a lot more quickly than they ever have before and you will be handing over and closing down tasks, not taking on new stuff in the last few weeks, so your workload will steeply decline as the end approaches… 😉

@KajiKita - I had hoped that normal service might resume once I reached the point at which I had actually submitted my notice (i.e. a collegiate appreciation that I was aff and a degree of flexibility about the way in which I would be aff). Except normal service is exactly the same, unhelpful, obstructive management refusing to consider anything other than what they want. Think Blackadder's generals and you're half way there

🙄 how annoying 🙄 Still, at least you don't have to actually please them during those 7 weeks! My previous employer made me work three months notice - absolutely no need as they weren't remotely putting me to good use. Another person was leaving at the same time and we spent most of the day messaging humorous remarks back and forth while we emptied our offices 😂

Thanks folks, just a kick in the squidgy parts after my recent good humour, I will survive. Head down and keep plodding...
A very good day financially, I was up by £110 after hearty cashback from the morning and AI surveys yesterday and today. Will whack a lump of that in my personal cash savings.6 -
I suppose the one thing it does do, is ABSOLUTELY reinforce that you have made the right decision! 😉😊

It's pointless making people work their full notice period. Plan a handover and get them out. No one is motivated when they are leaving.
Plan your handover and spend the rest of the time 'available in case of queries'.6 -
I would if I could greenbee but not my decision to make 🤷🏻♂️ Look how fast I'm working boss 😜6

I have been in the position where my boss hasn't planned my handover and has suddenly realised I'm not coming back the next day...
It's also important to make sure you clear down your mailbox and any personal drives, and shred any paperwork that won't be needed (one boss gave me a shredder as a leaving present 'in case there's anything you haven't shredded in the last few weeks' 🤣)5 -
I do wonder what your current bosses think they will accomplish by keeping you for 7 weeks? Surely there won't be any motivation to meet KPI's???4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
