Thank goodness Halloween is over! DD2 (3) went guising for the first time and while she had a blast, she was up far too late and became a massive rage baby

Month-end statistics looking fantastic, very much thanks to the generosity of those who have gone before us and stock market increases. We almost hit +£19,000 for the month
Hoping for a quieter day today - a wee bit of overtime, tidying up and starting to think about getting the house clean for the next major holiday
I'll also pick up some low noise fireworks today before they all sell out.
£6.09 OPed (small amount of savings interest, cashback for buying DD1's new winter jacket, virement).9 -
I am smugly productive, feel like my brain (or my will to be *****) is expanding like a flower as the reality that I'm getting away from a job that has ground me into a fine dust sinks in. Finishing jobs that have been put off for a year or more.
- Random carp including a paddling pool, a sensory toy that's meant to be filled with water and scared the bleep out of me, foam board, fans and an old buggy put up in the attic cupboards.
- Halloween decorations down.
- Two broken suitcases taken out of the attic, tip slot booked for them, an old cat tree and 2 bags of WEEE recycling tomorrow morning.
- DD1 made to take all of her random nonsense sitting around the house away.
- Flickering downlight bulb changed in DD1's room.
- Big bag of secure shredding added to my work laptop for disposal next week.
- T-shirt returned to big river.
- Kitchen tidied.
I also took the girls out for ice cream, got fireworks for Guy Fawkes and gave Mrs E a bit of a break this morning.12 -
It makes me so happy to read that you are ‘opening up’ and becoming re-energised. It just shows quite how much of your head space and energy that job was robbing from you. I bet Mrs Ed has noticed a difference too 😊

Yes, it feels like a weight lifted from your head, doesn't it! I am wondering why the old buggy has gone in the loft? do you have plans for it to be deployed again, as it were? (says mrs nosey!)

@Suffolk_lass - not unless a medical miracle occurs! 🤣 It's a lightweight buggy, will be bartered or sold for a fair price come milder months, was just taking up space where it was.
I was up early doors, old suitcases, cat scratching post that big lad outgrew and waste electricals taken to the recycling centre. Now facing a boring wait for The Range to open after I realised they'd overcharged me by £9 for fireworks yesterday 🙄
Will see if there's any virement to be had in YNAB while waiting...10 -
The Range couldn't open their door and had to call a locksmith! Felt slightly farcical as one of the 4 shops I went to looking for low noise fireworks yesterday had also lost the key to their fireworks
I'll go back tomorrow evening...- £120 added to Home Improvement budget (broadband switch cashback)
- £15.66 OPed
- £50 added to my personal spends account (anticipated Y Live payment as they're paying me this shortly)
- Opened 2x savings accounts via TCB for (hopefully) £50 cashback 🤞🏻
- £8.35 moved from personal spends to cash savings. I am trying to get to a 70/30 equities/cash split between my personal investments/savings and am currently more like 98/2

- £1.20 from a Prolific survey that made the promise of future studies to come
- £1 from the cheapskates at Y Live. 5-minute survey my bottom!

@edinburger - that's a clever way to top up your required spend - does your card allow multiple same day purchases? My MrS card (now NW) stops working on the big river site after 3 uses in 24 hours! OH's spanish bank card won't let him on the big river site more than twice in 24 hours!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! That's interesting, my Halifax cc got used 10 times on Friday evening with no problem, all very low value mind you. It had never occurred to me that could be a problem.6 -
I'm 11? Transactions in, seems to be ok 😅rtandon27 said:@edinburger - that's a clever way to top up your required spend - does your card allow multiple same day purchases?
