  • Morning Ed I've read your whole diary over the last week (sat nursing a knee injury) and I've seen you come through your ups and downs and I have to agree with the above - nowt is the way forward 😉.

(Ps your diary gave me some hope that there is an end in sight - we've got builders in at the moment and it feels like it's been neverending for two months 🙈.)

Definitely agree on downtime - although I'd probably go for pottering than doing absolutely nothing (unless it's reading - but reading doesn't count as doing nothing, imo! 😁😁)

I'm off to do some ironing whilst watching some easy catch up tv 😊

Thirded! The internet has said it must be so (did you see we decided where Cheery and Mr Cheery were going for their holiday yesterday?!).
Ha, yes quite - and I too vote for you having some rest instead of yet more work, and after my holiday was basically decided by committee, you HAVE to go along with it 😂

Thank you all for the positive reinforcement <3

I had accomplished the best of both worlds, I think. An hour of overtime accomplished (well, it will be in 10 minutes), with a relaxing bath running for after.

@debtfreewannabe321 - builders can be the worst! I still remember that summer heatwave when we were staying with the inlaws with a baby and our builders were taking an age to finish. The irony is that we'll probably have the house full of builders again soon, we've been in our home for a decade now and the first renovations (bathroom etc.) are now needing refurbished or replaced :o

DD was a very easy baby (other than a tendency to projectile vomit everywhere for the first few months - I had a HV tell me I was overreacting and that it wasn't PV - and then DD promptly PV'd all over her (and the sofa and carpet) about 5 mins later 😂) DS1 (2y 4m younger) was really hard work. It took me until he was coming up 2yo to look at him and realise that yes, I did love him - I'd just been looking after him before then and going through the motions ( I did have PND, which didn't help!) He is now a very chilled and caring 25yo. I was quite happy to stick with 2 children but life happens!

Thankfully, DS2 (almost 6 years younger than DS1) was such a cute baby and toddler - he was fun - with the older 2 being at school it was like having just 1 child a lot of the time - but with knowledge and experience! Ds3 (3y 4.5m younger than DS2) just had to fit in - life was very busy with the oldest 2 at 2 different schools and #3 at playgroup several mornings a week and DH working away Mon-Fri! 😁
