Oh bother, they are determined to refuse any responsibility aren’t they …. This is verging on constructive dismissal, isn’t it? I would talk to your union again. On a more positive note, I agree with the previous poster who said that they can’t take your experience away from you. You will have a whole range of tangible and intangible experiences and skills that you can share and discuss at interview. The other thing I will say is that, it only takes that one opportunity, that one opening, so keep your chin up and keep applying, applying, applying. Getting ’noticed’ by recruiters is a huge part of landing a new role. Plus, how much have you tapped up your network? Previous colleagues, mentors, bosses, etc etc.
Sending supportive and encouraging hugs.

So sorry work being so unhelpful- and ungrateful for all your hard work
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Sorry to read about HR et al. It does sound like constructive dismissal. Please talk to your union again. Also can you ask for a transfer to a different department? To go back for another work stream somewhere else? Maybe a secondment to another area of the outfit?
Tap up the CV, talk to agencies, consider self employment, consider what else you can do, network a bit? Anything but that toxic muddle you are avoiding with the help of your GP. Maybe ask for a different HR professional, maybe suggest your comments were made whilst you were under pressure and that you would like to review your position again (they really don't want to hear you so don't talk let them come to you). Is there anyway you can negotiate the "with overtime rate" for the job without the overtime ?? Is there really no negotiation? Sorry I'm shocked there is nothing, its appalling.
And time for Ed to be valued elsewhere.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
From what I have read, very few people are actually successful in obtaining redress for constructive dismissal, I'm really not sure that the stress would be worth it for a slim chance of getting a positive outcome. There aren't a whole lot of jobs advertised in my field at the moment but I am casting my net wider than I might usually. I emailed a recruiter about a job for an English organisation yesterday, the applicable legislation is the same and they say you can work from anywhere in the UK. There's also an NHS job I'd consider applying for (based in Scotland). They're both a wee bit of a paycut but enough to pay the bills and regain my confidence. I'd probably prefer the English one, as they'll provide support for a data protection qualification and that's a direction I'd like to take my career.Other than that, I'm a bit run down with cold and flu symptoms, so just doing the odd survey and making myself useful around the house. Got a cracking AI one on Prolific yesterday that paid IRO £67/hrNot a massive update I know, just keeping myself accountable and trying to push on through the fog.11

This sounds quite positive though and looks like you are moving forwards.I agree with the not pursuing anything legally - I once consulted a solicitor about a job issue and frankly came to the same conclusion as you. Best thing to do for your mental health is to move on and get out of there.2025 decluttering: 3,235🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

FML.The boiler has been playing up ("F28" error and no hot water). Boiler engineers have been out 7 times and have now said that they've basically given up on us unless we purchase a new heat exchanger (easily £700-£900 including labour). We have already paid £750 on parts and labour, £500 of which would appear to have been pointless (the £250 repair replaced something which was visibly badly damaged, so realistically it would have given up the ghost at some point).I intend to attempt a credit card chargeback for the £500 but that still leaves us in the position of needing a new boiler. Like all good MFWers, I keep records and can say that our current boiler cost £2,340 in 2015. Unfortunately a replacement with a long warranty will cost IRO £3,000. We don't have £3,000 - can anyone think of a better idea than a 0% purchase CC paid off during the offer period (no interest and S75 protection)? Not a great day, lost the rag and snapped verbally at DD2, who has been demanding and 2 all day5
