Visiting the St James's Park penguins is free too, and not too far from the river taxi stop by the Millennium Wheel (that LWAP mentioned), via Parliament Square (and Westminster Abbey), when you visit London. Walking down from Trafalgar Square, via The Mall, down Horseguards Road. All free!
We have just withdrawn the last of DH's DC pension capital that we have specifically drawn down in the 4 whole tax years between him giving up work and us being eligible to draw state pensions, which (I think) is what your SIPP is targetingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

edinburgher said:@LadyWithAPlan - could be paid into SIPP - employers pension not a thing for a couple of factors. I'd rather have the time, got a small preserved DB pension, current DB pension and a useful wee wodge in a SIPP already
I do know a fair bit about sipps tax advantages - fun to add to and see it go up and my ltd co tax bill go down ..;)
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

70% increase is a scary figure, thats concerning, Will you have to recalculate your budgets again?5

@teapot2 - not sure there's any more room to recalculate, have already hacked to the bone. This may require more detailed changes. Mrs E and I are talking about introducing an extra meat free day a week and moving onto instant coffee.

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
That's a huge amount. Is there anyway of getting the mortgage company to extend your mortgage? I know it's not ideal but in the future you might be able to claw it back when you have more breathing space.6
