Our ham arrived this morning so we are officially ready to cook! No food until Christmas but that's another story
I've made some vegetable stock for my pea puree and gravy but the rest of the cooking will happen on Christmas day.
Our tradition is to go to Beefeater for a wee Christmas Eve breakfast (kids eat free with grownups, so you can feed 4 people to bursting for £20) and dinner will be takeawy from a local restaurant for something a bit lighter (all budgeted for). Today has just been simple stuff like carbs and freezer remains.I got my hair cut this morning and am rattling through a huge amount of tidying. Coffee grinder and maker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and extractor fan filters cleaned. Recycling taken out, floors hoovered and washed and all presents wrapped bar Mrs E's (I was wrapping presents at 23:45 last night with a whisky and coke)
Budgets all looking pretty healthy, there should even be a few £££ to steal for the EF from things that I have budgeted for too generously.8 -
Well done on the underspending.
I like the sound of tomorrow's meal plans, have a lovely time.
Presents wrapped, we haven't even started, yet another job for tomorrow's list.

Merry Xmas and enjoy your food and time off work with the familyDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
