I will try again later.  Does it make a difference whether I nominate the Lloyds account to be my main account, or not?  It won't be, and the Monzo account history would confirm that, I've seldom had more than £20 in it, but it is used regularly, and has two small direct debits set up just in case a switching incentive beckoned!  Or perhaps my income is too low (part time job, retiring next year).
No - you wouldn't have got that message - you'd get a 'decline' if they didn't want you.

Bear in mind a decline can be generated by a technical fault/algorithm and, if you're determined, can be still usually done by a phone call and/or branch visit.
Thanks soulsaver, I didn't know that.  However, all is well.  I scanned the QR code on the application and completed it on my mobile.  All accepted without any problems, with a picture of my new debit card and confirmation of the switch date.  Switch from NatWest to a new Santander 123Lite is progressing nicely, and then I will switch my existing Santander Everyday account to my long-standing Nationwide FlexAccount.  Thanks as always to this forum!

I'm trying to switch a Monzo current account that I've had for two years and just keep getting this message:

    We cannot switch this account

We’ve checked your old account and it cannot be switched. Check on your bank statement and debit card that:

    1. The sort code and account number you provided for your old account are correct.
    2. Your name, address and date of birth on your old account match your new account.
    3. If your old account is a joint account then your new account must be joint and both names need to be correct.
Everything I've entered is correct.  My Monzo debit card shows my first name and surname, no title or initials, although the Lloyds application asks for first, middle and surnames, as shown on my passport and driving licence.  Any suggestions welcome!

the same thing was happening to me last week when I was trying to open a new account and do a switch at the same time (if you look back in the thread you will see my post).  I ended up just opening the new lloyds account then after this I went back to the lloyds website homepage and clicked on the "switch now" link then scroll down the page and then "complete the switching form" under the header "I have a lloyds bank current account" and it worked doing it this way.  It must be some kind of glitch on the lloyds end thats not allowing to switch whilst opening the account but after the account is opened it def works as ive just been creidted the £100 switch bonus today
  • I already got club Lloyds current account.

What option is there for me to benefit this switching offer???

I did just this during the previous incentive and got paid - not eligible this time around so I haven't tried but there's nothing in the terms to stop you from doing it.

I've read through all the conditions and am still unclear on one point.  I've never had an account that required a minimum monthly pay-in, I know the Club Lloyds account requires £1500 a month to be paid in to avoid a £3 monthly fee, but does that mean the account balance has to, at least at one point, need to be £1500, or can a total of £1500 be paid in over the course of the month in smaller instalments, which can also be withdrawn before paying more in?  As an example, can I put £500 in, spend or transfer some of that, then add £700 when I'm paid, again spend or transfer some of it, and pay in another £300 before the end of the month... £1500 in total, but the account balance may never have gone higher than £700ish?  Apologies if it's made clear in the conditions and I've missed it.

The terms are clear - you need to pay in at least 1500 during the month.  And that's all you need to do to avoid the £3 fee each month.

    There's no minimum balance.

There's no need for the 1500 to be in one lump.

You could pay in £1, take it out and repeat 1500 times if you like!

I've already done it and haven't been paid the bonus yet so when I read that there are people here getting paid the bonus before their switch is complete it makes me wonder if I'll have to chase!
