I am trying to open a new account and switch but my donor account doesn't have a debit card. It expired back in May and I was advised to contact them if I wanted to replace it but as I never really use it I didn't bother. When I leave that section blank it says I need to fill it in and won't let me complete the application. Has anyone else had this experience?0

There should be an option somewhere to select "no debit card" or equivalent, as highlighted on page 4 of this threadgizz_10 said:I am trying to open a new account and switch but my donor account doesn't have a debit card. Page 4 suggests you can just skip the question about the debit card and carry on, but i am not finding that works- when i skip the question and try and submit it highlights the question about debit card in red - ie its a mandatory field. I can't see any option to choose that I don't have a debit card anywhere.PRAISETHESUN said:

Try a different browser, or maybe they've changed the process. When I applied it was different, too: I selected no card and it said must go to branch with ID to do the switch.gizz_10 said:

It's may be possible some posters are confusing their experience with other switching offers.0 -
Hi everyone!
I've been a Barclays customers for years before switching to Nationwide in April last year to take advantage of the cash and interest offer. However I must say, while I haven't had any particular problem with Nationwide, switching from Barclays I felt as if I had "lost" a few small features, such as a more modern online banking account (Nationwide's looks like it's from 20 years ago!), some benefits such as cashback, and the ability to do a lot more on my app (call and chat with agents, download statements, upload cheques, manage payees, categorise spending etc).
Now I'm thinking of switching to Lloyds instead and take advantage of this offer, but I have heard mixed reviews on their customer service and I also am not sure about their online and mobile banking. What's your experience? Many thanks.0 -
Everyone's experiences and views on bank systems will vary so if you get views they might not be valid for you.Ringo90 said:Hi everyone!

But if you're unsure you want to switch your main account to Lloyds then don't.
Switch another one.
And if you haven't got another one (it's always a good idea to have accounts with more than one bank in case of technical downtime etc) then open one (easy to do another within Nationwide) and switch that.1 -
I have downgrade to classic. The account name has changed.
How long before I can apply for new CL ???0 -
Soon as you like. If you experience problems, give it overnight.Usa2019 said:I have downgrade to classic. The account name has changed.

That's true and many times I've found myself setting my mind on something even though I was advised not to. But I still like to hear comments.Zanderman said:Everyone's experiences and views on bank systems will vary so if you get views they might not be valid for you.

Even with Nationwide, I switched because the reviews on customer service, app and online account were all great. I only found after my switch that they lack a lot of features I had got used to, even though I can't say anything about the customer service.
So, based on the experience I have just told you about my switch, would you recommend Lloyds? How is the mobile/internet banking?
P.S. I've already got a main account, a credit card Amex, a Revolut for foreign transactions... so I can only switch my main account and I don't want to add a 4th one.0
