I'm just thinking you could earn cashback using your credit card, then earn more cashback by paying off the credit card. Or is this too good to be true?1% cashback on everyday purchases with your Chase debit card online or in-store
1% on your debit card transactions. No mention of direct debits, bills, transfers, credit cards. And there is a long list of debit card transaction exclusions at https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/legal/Cashback-Exclusions/
It's not 'too good to be true'. You're just extrapolating wildly!1 -
Yes they are, I have Curve Metal, so I can use curve fronted, and i've tried paying credit cards and withdrawing cash and none of these give cashback, unlike some of the credit card I have - still with no fees on the cards end.Daliah said:jay1804 said:

Most of what you said won't work, for example credit cards and savings/stocks and shares, however some bills might work just depends on the MCC.
Chase are very on the case with the MCCs. I have reverted to my cashback credit card for some purchases as 0.5% is better than the 0% I get with Chase. The good news is that you can instantly see in the app whether the transaction counts for cashback or not.
The traditional bypass for the purposes of cashback with Curve won't work any longer, either
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6301058/updates-to-curve-t-cs. Though you can still use the Chase card with Curve in most cases, you just won't get cashback for things such as tax payments or deposits into savings accounts. Some transactions, such as credit card payments, will be declined outright.0 -
The T&Cs for the account indicate that Chase isn't offering direct debits (at least at this point)Zanderman said:

It must be a very short 'queue' as I reached the front within days and received my code.
However that's where the problems started
The app repeatedly crashed on launch.
When I finally got it to open a message said I had to update android, as the app only works on version 8.1 and above. Mine is 8.0 and no longer receiving updates
The cost of purchasing a new phone would far exceed any potential cashback for me. Uninstalled

Indeed they don't. Which makes jbrassy's question about whether they pay 1% cashback on them (DDs) even odder.Emmia said:

The date does not seem to be set. I asked Customer Services and all they could say was ‘soon’.Jayp7541 said:Any ideas on when the 5% round-up savings account is starting up ?
This is a bit disappointing combined with the limits to 1% cash back and the rumoured metal card turning out to be plastic…0 -
Most cashback offers have limits on what you are allowed. At 1% it’s still really above and beyond what you can get with most banks.basmiles said:

I think the metal card was rumoured by people on forums & such not Chase or news outlets either.
It’s a new bank, it’ll take time to get everything right.0 -
It’s a new bank with a 200 year banking history which took three years to launch a UK current account without Direct Debits. Not even true new banks like Metro, Monzo or Starling managed to do that.adamp87 said:

I doubt that too many people will fall for the 5% roundup, as that’s merely a gizmo worth just pennies. Their limited 1% cashback is presently the only redeeming and unique feature6 -
The media stated it would metallic, which people assumed meant it would be metal. But perhaps this was referring to the MasterCard logo on the plastic card.adamp87 said:basmiles said:
