    Thanks both.
The difference for my quotes was v4 was about £16 cheaper than v3.
If v4 has been pulled, then v3 is still the least worst option (assuming it goes through without SoLR interrupting it).

Massive difference for me, I don't have gas and use about 4100kwh a year :(

Edit - Symbio seem to have disappeared

Been with PFP for some months now and just looking to swap as a result of this through the Energy Club, but it looks like I have the early exit fees to contend with.  I wonder if I try to swap, will PFP try to charge me the fees?

Looking at what else is available through the Energy Club, the cheapest is going to cost me around £25 more per month, but I notice that Symbio are not listed.  Doing a comparison on their website could save me around £10 per month.

Have Symbio fallen off of the Energy Club list?

Best to get your quote for Symbio direct from their own website if you are seriously considering joining them. All comparison sites will struggle to give you an accurate quote for Symbio what with the shenanigans Symbio are up to over what tariffs they will offer people depending on their usage.

High users not currently supplied by Symbio will be offered a lower priced, introductory, loss leading tariff (I would suggest you fix it) that is cheaper than anything NR offer ... but at what cost?

Hey, you should read the FAQ in the first post. PFP no longer exist - they won't charge you exit fees because you won't have left before the SoLR has been appointed and taken over. More over - if you do try and switch now, it'll likely fail because the SoLR will be doing their own switch.

Essentially, you need to sit tight a few days until you know who the new supplier is!
  • Oh well good while it lasted, not long!  Being on variable I was expecting an imminent price rise rather than collapse.
Electricity at 12.19p kwh when most are at 16p seemed too good to be true.
  • I've cancelled my direct debit with PFP Energy after they lost their licence. In response, they have applied a penalty charge of £12 to my account, which was £72 in credit (now only £60).

Looks like the advice from Ofgem to "cancel your direct debit if you want to" could add more hassle for consumers. I guess I'll have to get this back from the SOLR.

That's interesting. Cancelled my DD too and have had the automated email about that. But no charge yet. Was your payment due? Mines not due til the end of the month.

It will probably affect a few her who've already said they've cancelled it. You could maybe try to get in touch with them now and see what they say? Or wait until the final bill and dispute it then. Only problem we may have is there's no complaints recourse against a failed provider. If PFP or the administrators won't resolve it, then maybe a complaint against the SoLR when the final credit is transferred over to them £12 short.

I expect we may find out who the SoLR is today, it generally takes Ofgem 3 days to announce.

So, who do we think? SSE? EDF? OVO? Place your bets now...

You might be right that there's a timing element to this. I cancelled my DD on the day they ceased trading and haven't received either the automated alert or notification of penalty. My next payment is (or rather was) not due until 27th Sep.
