Morning all
I've managed 2 NSDs since i last posted so think i'm up to 3 for September. I thought i'd have to buy toothpaste but managed to find some that DD2 had brought home from uni
I've been working loads at all 4 jobs and have to go into the office today; not looking forward to it in this heat - i'm with f0xh0les and hide indoors when it's hot
I got a nice top in a CS on saturday as i'm having my usual panic when going away about what clothes and shoes to take as i never seem to have the right clothes!
My bank balance is scary. I have had lots of expense as paid out for DD2's graduation plus paid for accomm this weekend for going to visit family, with DD2's boyfr joining us we can't stay with family (more relaxing not to either!) plus 2 family birthdays this month. I will be overdrawn, the question is by how much. Bank balance not helped as i haven't been paid for job role #4! Need to get on the case with that ASAP...... Also need to do a recce of the freezer and cupboards and see if can eat from stores till my hol.
Better get ready to hit the motorway
Glad to hear you can go out with DS1 ditty and hope you are ok ThriftyTaylor

Hugs thrifty and anyone else who wants one. Went out early this morning (yesterday evening was watering and planting some sweet peas to overwinter) to make a start on mum's rockery before it was too hot. Dug out 3 full bucket loads - most complicated by roots binding them together. Speeded things up by deciding sifting could wait till later (and be done in the shade) but still hard going. Drank several bottles of water whilst I was out there and finally gave up (sun was burning my foot through my wellie). Came in and it was few minutes before noon, so showered, put together a large salad with 2 boiled eggs (still eating it slowly).
Put mum's washing out. She put bits on the maiden, I heard the crash when I was at the front, have weighted it with 2 small buckets of soil. Food is due soon and have spent far too much but mostly for the rest of the year, not this month (fuller explanation later)
On the subject of that day we do not mention, be aware of when stores change their displays. I will be going to W's on my next town trip, to look at garden supplies (not impressed last time I went). however I know that any day now half of it will be replaced by Halloween 'goodies' and shortly thereafter very little will remain, swamped by swathes of tinsel etc. They often sell off any remaining seeds at bargain prices so worth keeping an eye out and saving for next year.
I will also be casting an eye over B00ts because I like to get bottles of my favourite sun cream when they're reduced to half price and that is a very narrow window indeed. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

A parent is only as good as their dumbest kid. If one wins the Nobel prize and the other gets robbed by a hooker, you've failed. (not sure I agree and not going into the implied sexism etc, but it made me smile).

Hate to tell you mothernerd, but there is already the most enormous section in my local Mr T's Cathedral of Consumerism of C-word chocolates on the very first aisle, and a banner saying 'stock up early' or some such nonsense, and they have packs of mice pies in plain view. I did see someone post that SainsBob had started selling the pies from their bakery last week, and I was shocked that all the c/s put out their packs of cards on the 1st Sept ***shudder***We are swimming against the tide on this one - I mean what kind of total weirdo could buy all their X-word chocs in September and have any left by November??? or maybe I am just more self-aware
of my weak willed nature
I do not buy ours until December. Buy once, eat once. Buy in September, listen to their little chocolatey voices calling to me from the cupboard, eat them, and all their mates to ensure their silence, then have to buy again. Nope, not for me. Cannot be trusted.
Rescued the most enormous hairy hawk moth beast ( code named Isaac - Isaac Is-A-Moth) from DS2s room, totally skipped the place out and hoovered, and then dragged him at lunchtime (along with his face) to the bank to get him his first grown up bank account with a wavy bank card. It is needed as I found £170 in notes and even more in coins scattered about his room. The boy is a squirrel (who does not go shopping).30 degrees here again today, it is going to be 20+ degrees at 11pm tonight. Not holding out much hope of a good night's sleep.Gratitudes: DS2 being his own financial master, discovering Vigil on eye-player - binged 3 episodes last night, now waiting for the other 3, having clean bedrooms that do not smell of boys' feet, for Endeavour starting again on Sunday - 3 episodes is not a series, I wish someone would tell them!!!and hugs to all who need them, or who just want them - I'm honestly not that fussy.
Off to stick my head in the fridge and try and figure out what I am going to cook in this heat to satisfy everyone plus DH has started dieting again, just as the boys are demanding carbs like fiends.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

With this sunny weather it seems far too early to be thinking of That Day but it'll sadly be here all too soon!
No NSD here, small spend of £2 on some of those plastic toothbrush head cover things. Found some pesky fruit flies in the bathroom hovering ON our toothbrushes so had to get new ones out (wouldn't mind but I only changed mine last week!), am hiding them in the cupboard until these covers arrive. I'm hoping the change in weather will deal with any remaining flies...
Managed a really short swim at lunchtime today and my back has felt really good this afternoon, which I'm very pleased with! Have to be mindful not to overdo it.
My pampering a few weeks ago has come back to bite me. Can't get this poxy shellac nail varnish off so looks like I'll have to go back to pay to have it removed. Good job this isn't a regular thing! I might get it done again next month as it's lasted so well (too well perhaps!) But it definitely won't be a regular thing.8 -
NSD 4It was roasting here today. I only ventured outside to hang up and take down three loads of washing. I don’t do well in the sun as a freckly red-head. In the sun my skin goes from blue to white to lobster red.Grateful for the greatest drying day, a clean bed to get into later, and endless water on tap.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6
