I heard that you cannot argue about grace period to a private car park, only council ones
Not sure who you heard that from!

Lip service is paid to grace periods in the conflicting Codes of Practice but industry is out of control.  Things will hopefully be better when the Government regulates the industry next year.

Read the relevant Code of Practice version from the right year.

  • Is there even a grace period in a permit bay it doesn't mention where I have read. Only about if your time expires.

A driver always has a consideration period to read signs and decide whether to stay or go.  Read the relevant Code of Practice even though the wording is wishy washy, it's there.

Three weeks ago today I wrote on your thread...
...you have until 4pm on Wednesday 15th December 2021 to file your Defence.

That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
You now have less than four days to file your Defence.
  • Dont worry I know what I'm going to say. Signs were unclear, no sign at entrance and signs were covered up by cars because signs were too low, I'll quote a BBC news article on cpm taking signs off making them temporary. And the only sign I could've read was a sign at the shop entrance but due to the pandemic a queue formed out the shop and could not get close enough due to the restrictions in place to read it. By that time the person slapped parking ticket on my car within 4 minutes of observation. 4 minutes is not enough time to be able to make a decision since the other viewable signage font was too small and too high up and the rest was covered up by a skip which I have pics of and parked cars which I've also got pics of.

That looks more like Witness Statement fodder to me.
A Defence is where one states legal arguments, but it's your Defence, not mine.

And the template defence already covers signage.

Read other claim threads and see how others have worded it. We have dozens on the go every week - no links.  Read threads with court claim or defence in the title.
