One issue i have with google/apple pay is not every shop still uses. I belive some major retailers like tesco dont use them and some of the little shops dont either

Is there a limit for googe/apple pay?0 -
As far as i know it works on the same limit as contactless?
So dont know how people havent used debit cards for years (as suggested on this thread). Currently the limit is 45 so unless you are always below that then you need a debit card at some point0 -

However, individual merchants can set lower limits. Famously, one such annoying exception was ASDA, who insisted for a long time that the ApplePay limit is the same as the contactless limit. Luckily they have now fixed this.
Also card issuers might randomly not authorise a purchase first time round. Nationwide seem to be a bit picky with larger amounts (> £1,000), which they sometimes reject until you have confirmed that it was you who would like to make the payment.
I have been using ApplePay for several years, in all of the Supermarkets, in Boots, Next, M&S, TKMax, Wilco, Camping shops, Apple, tyre companies, hairdressers, London Underground, metropolitan and provincial buses, trains, newsagents, corner shops, off licences, petrol stations, restaurants, car parks, pubs, cafes, greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers, market stalls, gift shops, theatres, cinemas, post office, garden centres etc etc etc - basically anywhere with a contactless terminal. 99.99% of the time the payment goes through straight away, for any amount of money.
Also, 99.99% of my payments are made with my AppleWatch and I rarely ever take a physical card with me now.0 -
As above, just last week I paid for a service and MOT with my Apple Watch, shortly followed by two new tyres. Both retailers were small independents and didn't bat an eyelid as I showed my watch to the terminal.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Thanks - gonna try it out on Asda0
