So, officially over and still a couple of days to go, hopefully we'll make it through with no other spend, but no milk in the freezer which may prompt a trip to the shop!
Weekly shop of £88.38 on Thursday.
£3.99 on a disposable BBQ along with £5.37 for a beach BBQ on Saturday. Also brought sausages from the freezer plus salad and potato salad - this did 3 + 2yo
everything else was fairly standard fare.
I hit the £200 mark with the above shop and so went into Lidl again the next day on the theory i would get a bottle of gin on the £10 and not miss spending it again - it doesn't work on alcoholI picked up a couple of other bits (£2.54) and queued for ages when i could have gone straight home from swimming (carpark is next door)
Also means, I will need to shop again on Thursday to make sure i get the £10 discount!

joedenise said:Thanks Pip just read your post that Mr Ts have got dried chickpeas on Clubcard Price. Have these on my shopping list as have the last lot soaking ready for using tomorrow and will freeze any I don't use. Planning on making some falafel for snacks and a Chana Masala for dinner.2

I use the recipe from the SlimmingEats website. It's a slimming world friendly (ie syn free!) recipe. I also stir through some spinach at the end, fresh if I've got it otherwise some frozen.

No idea how close to a takeaway Chana Masala it is as we never have takeaway but we enjoy it anyway. I usually make a slightly spicy rice to go with it.

I’m going to have to aren’t I! Will have to be after work on Thursday meaning child in tow… having them there hopefully won’t add on more than I will save using the voucher!!2

Well do you know, I’ve only bloooooming well managed to keep under budget. Payday on Thursday and I’ve spent £176.37 and do not plan to venture out until then. Yes we have eaten some weird concoctions, yes the cupboards/freezer are virtually empty and yes we will be having veg tikka masala twice in 3 days but I am proud of my efforts and neither me or the boy have gone hungry (although don’t ask him, he always claims to be hungry 😋). Will do big stock up of supplies later in the week as I’ve a couple of days off, once I’ve done my meal plan.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)6

Hopefully declaring for September at £508.61/£550; should be able to make it through to payday on Thursday without any further expenditure! In the end I took the figures from the bank account; £32.40 for the fish & chips, £23.40 to the butcher, £35.79 at W8rose, £50 at the market, and a dash to L!dls today at £72.05. But that should cover next month too, though there were rather a lot of empty shelves...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)3

I’ve not posted much this month but have been following the thread and monitoring my spends. I used the Lidil voucher in the newspaper to do a big (for me) shop, and the rest was mainly in Aldli. As others have said, there does seem to be a growing number of empty shelves in the shops. It may have been that I shopped on a Sunday afternoon in Lidil but there was a surprising shortage of tinned toms of all kinds.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget2

I went a bit over budget this month, despite the best of intentions. My youngest daughter is still waiting for her student loan, so I have had to still make sure she is fed and watered. I did get a takeaway and a few bulk buys; but as takeaways are such a rarity, I decided not to include it in the end.
My salary has now changed to every two weeks, but I'm just going to run from the 26th to 25th as I am used to it. Unless the dates really start to alter massively.
Onwards and upwards for next month.
