Pixiehouse55- oh that's sounds great and exciting, we have a canal going through our small town but the nearest I've been to a house boat is walking through one very quickly!! The motor home is something on my wish list and I follow quite a few on utube!!
When I got up this morning I felt so much better, so I have made some soup, it's called sunshine soup and I can't remember where I got the recipe from but it's light and nice just what I need at the moment, and it uses courgettes that I have plenty of!
Anyway I'm not intending on going out anywhere so no money will be spent, I still have a lot of food in as I haven't really been eating much the last few days!

Another spend today of just over £15, think I must have missed something earlier as now down to £57.72 for next week. Definitely doable but don't think there will be much to move over to the Bulk Fund.

@Pixiehouse55 - this sounds really exciting and as we have a canal and a boatyard near here, city of the Dreaming Spires, I shall be keeping my eyes peeled for you when I walk and cycle alongside the waterways.
I managed a NSD today because I completely forgot to go shopping! An historic first for me and not one I think is ever likely to be repeated but I'm taking the win anyway.
That means that my total spend remains the same at £100.97/£120 but my average daily spend is now a nearly respectable £4.03, hooray.6 -
Is anyone else getting fed up of going to the supermarket and not being able to get the product they want ?? 😒 I refuse to pay twice as much for a branded item just because the supermarket don't have their own brand. I have started checking stock online before I go to the SM so I can adapt my weekly menu. Rant over 🤪 £ 5.01 shop for me todayDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Yes indeed Scotmum - the supermarkets are a lottery at the moment.
I think I've finished my shopping for the month - there is nothing I need and I'm happy to avoid the shops at the moment.
greatly helped this month by vouchers from L's - 3 x £5 off from the newspaper, 2 x £10 for spending - one was brought forward from August and one earned this month and another £2. So £37 in vouchers which is equivalent to a big basket of shopping. This challenge has really helped me be more thoughtful about meal planning and not wasting food. Also eating from stocks and freezer has helped. This is my lowest food spend for a very long time and I don't feel like I've gone without anything.
SEPTEMBER TOTAL SPEND £270.32/£320.00. Underspend £49.687 -
Good evening all
I have two shops to declare, both of them stock-ups for the store cupboard. Yesterday, DH and I popped into L!dl to take advantage of their 15% off on coffee and German sausages. Five packets of ground, French Roasted beans purchased, together with a jar of “gold” instant and 2 packets of Bratwurst. £9.98 spent.
Today, DH went to MrT’s without me. He went with a short shopping list but, conscious that we had £60-odd left in the GC purse, decided to stock up. (He phoned at least 3 times to ask if something was a good price, whether we needed more of xx, etc.) Amongst other things, he purchased 7 tins of sweetcorn, 2x9-roll packets of recycled toilet paper, 3x500g packets of bulgar wheat, 6 pasta quills and a couple of jars of pasta sauces. He also took advantage of a couple of “Clubcard offers”, buying dried chickpeas (£2.75 for 2kg) and two Johnson’s baby powder (at £1.50 instead of £2.35 each). He spent a total of £35.10.scotmumof3 said:Is anyone else getting fed up of going to the supermarket and not being able to get the product they want ?? 😒 I refuse to pay twice as much for a branded item just because the supermarket don't have their own brand. Yes, me. @scotmumof3. I mentioned the tinned sweetcorn my DH purchased today, well they’d been on the shopping list for over a month. We only use recycled toilet paper and the MrT’s near where we were on holiday last week had none. Yesterday, our local Sainsbugs had none, which is a pity because theirs is 30p cheaper per pack than MrT’s but the same product. Hence the reason he bought 2 packets today.
The above spends brings my September total to £117.18/£146.90 leaving £29.72 for the rest of the month.

Oh dear, I've completely lost track now. I know I spent about £50 at the market on Friday and a little more dashing up to the supermarket on Saturday morning but I have very little idea how much! The baker's been closed for a holiday this week, so I know I didn't spend anything there. But I did crack last night & order fish & chips, which cost just over £30 for the 4 of us - eek! It's been an utterly manic week, between dashing up to Wales (a whole lot of driving!) having Ds2, wife & baby to lunch on Friday, taking Ds3 back to his university to pick paperwork up on Saturday, then preparing for today's market - my feet haven't touched the ground. I will attempt a proper reckoning tomorrow, but I'm not sure it's do-able... must do better in October!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)2

@LunaCatty how exciting on your offer being accepted, I may put a 2nd one into a flat I have seen. I also feel your issue with sticks running down ... I like it when I can see space in my small freezer as that means I have room to buy more reduced stuff!
Grocery spending - £142.86 of £170
I popped to swap guac and buy a FR chicken Saturday purely to eat and the make stock for my soup at Lidl after the gym and ended up spending £25.59!!! Fridge now very full, also paid £2.65 in m+s on organic cheap beetroot - cheaper than LIDL normal! and some reduced FR ham -= £28.24 all as planning to start again making beetroot soup
I did buy 3 lots of 4 turkey burgers for my freezer as they are great and super tasty and were reduced
NSD 7/10 Sept - spent Fri/Sat/Sun - hoping Mon and Wed doable -DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
