New Nationwide Switch - both new and existing?

Even if they do I am sure they would honour the people who have pending switches like me. The time the switch starts at least two dd's will show as paid. However on looking at the direct debits on my TSB account they are all shown as paid despite all being new ones.pearl123 said:
I started the process of switching early, as just in case they pull the offer. I actioned it to go through after both direct debits had been processed, which would be around the 17th.Fingerbobs said:
You would probably be ok applying for the switch now, but personally I am going to wait until after each DD has been taken at least once from my donor account before even applying for a switch. Just removes any doubt.pearl123 said:I've just set up a water direct debit to come out on the 7th. Do I need to apply for a switch with Nationwide after this date or fill out the switch now. And then request a switch after th 7th?1 -
On a Birmingham Midshires savings account, it has 2 DD's per account, one for a manual DD and another for a regular DD. They have the same account number on the DD but a different number before the slash to identify the DD. Would this count as 2 active DD's if both had been used recently?2

I would say yes but only Nationwide would be able to give you reliable answer.Mosler said:On a Birmingham Midshires savings account, it has 2 DD's per account, one for a manual DD and another for a regular DD. Does the switch just need to complete after the DD payments have been taken or should the switch not start until after the DD payments?pearl123 said:

As an exisiting Nationwide FlexDirect account holder, I understand most of the details are pre-populated.Does it ask to confirm employment etc.?Also, do you absolutely need to have a valid debit card for the donor account, as I don't recall a replacement for my expired card has been received. I don't use the donor account much.0

I've used BM for other switch incentives in the past without issue - 2x DD mandates are set up on the account, each with different reference numbers as you describe. I've also used this approach for my current Nationwide switch so will advise if there are any issues - my switch completed this morning so I'm just awaiting confirmation now that the incentive will be paid.Mosler said:On a Birmingham Midshires savings account, it has 2 DD's per account, one for a manual DD and another for a regular DD. See above, or read through the thread - this has been discussed previously. Other good ideas are to temporarily shuffle around household bill DDs, your CC repayment DD, or link your bank account to PayPal and make a purchase using your bank account (not your credit/debit card).

I don't recall being asked for any employment details - it was basically just a short form confirming the details of the account to be switched.fleemkt said:As an exisiting Nationwide FlexDirect account holder, I understand most of the details are pre-populated.Does it ask to confirm employment etc.?Also, do you absolutely need to have a valid debit card for the donor account, as I don't recall a replacement for my expired card has been received. You don't need a debit card to switch accounts, but if there is one associated with the donor account the details must be provided to your new bank. If you don't, you run the risk of the switch failing.1
