New Nationwide Switch - both new and existing?

Has anyone tried to switch a sole into an existing joint account?
I've got a sole which already have the 2 DD on, so am trying to switch this into my joint. When you go to switch it online the form automatically puts the other half in and nowhere does it allow you to state that it is a sole you are switching in. I have had a live chat and they couldn't help and so have now sent a secure message as advised, but says may take 5 days for a response.
I know you are able to switch a sole into a joint, but unlike other banks that allow you to indicate that it is a sole being switched in I can't find anything on Nationwide to indicate this.
I don't want to open a sole account if I can help it, as I have already opened 3 accounts within the last 12 months.2 -
If you've already got a NatWide ac an additional new ac with them is a soft search, if that helps.youngretired said:Has anyone tried to switch a sole into an existing joint account?

Very straight forward. I just went into my account page and on the left is the switch button. Everything is populated. When finished I received a text about 1 hour later saying good news we have accepted your switch application. Also as previously posted there is no issue even if a bonus as been paid before they will still pay out provided of course the criteria is met.fleemkt said:CRISPIANNE3 said:
If you see my latest post this is what I am now going to do.alandaniel132 said:
why don't you just switch your other bank to your NW current account?CRISPIANNE3 said:Is it possible to open a new account with NW and switch into that. I have been a member for over 20 years.
and no need to open a new account with NWI'm thinking of switching into my existing FlexDirect account to avoid a hard search.Would you mind letting me know how the application goes? Are questions pre-populated etc.
Thanks for the info!

Who was it that told you this?Fingerbobs said:I've just been told that Nationwide have temporarily suspended switches from Tesco accounts. They cause "problems" apparently.0 -
It's mentioned on their site, for example:Steve_xx said:

That's not quite the same as Fingerbobs' original statement that 'Nationwide have suspended switches from Tesco'.AlwaysLearnin said:

It is stating the opposite - that Tesco may have trouble with switches (as has been reported generally, not just to Nwide).
And that if you try to switch to Nwide from Tesco 'Tesco [not Nwide] may cancel it'.
From that information it seems Nwide haven't suspended anything, they're just advising people that Tesco 'might' (they might not though)2 -
I can't speak for where Fingerbobs saw/heard this, I was just highlighting that the Nationwide site displays messages that state "please do not begin your switch to us just yet" in relation to Tesco acct's, which I thought might help the enquirer.

On the left hand side amongst a list of services there is an option that says something like switch to Nationwide. Click that. You have then to go through security again.
Then you have the options to click on track switch. You then get a screen displaying your switch tracking number. Click that and the switch details are displayed. You have the option to change the completion date.
Hope you can follow that as it was all done from memory.3 -
I think this isn't possible but just checking.. Can you switch a joint account and make it a sole account?0
