Is it possible to open a new account with NW and switch into that. I have been a member for over 20 years.

Yes. This is what I did. When you complete the checks at the start of the process it asks you if you are an existing member and if you want to switch to an existing account or create a new one.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Can I switch in a current account that doesn't have a debit card (and still get the £125)?

One of our BoS Reward current accounts doesn't have a debit card, the other one does (and it's not that easy to get one issued - I've tried).

Yes you can. The switch application has a tick box to indicate whether or not there is a debit card associated with the account.
    Thank you so much.

This Nationwide offer gets better and better!

    From NW online chat.

Great, so with this new switch offer even if you have used a previous offer we've had before you can still be eligible for this switch. You can switch into your FlexDirect as long as you complete a full switch and move at least 2 direct debits over as part of the switch

So based on the above information there should be no need to open another account. This would have resulted in a hard credit search.

why don't you just switch your other bank to your NW current account?
and no need to open a new account with NW

thanks. so just switch and no need open a new NW, as long as switch with 2 active DD.

we can avoid hardsearch in our credit report.

I've just been told that Nationwide have temporarily suspended switches from Tesco accounts. They cause "problems" apparently.

Can't have too many accounts IMO, especially if another Santander-type switch offer comes along (switch-in as many times as you like, no dd's required, £50 or £100 per switch)  :)

Even I was running out of donor accounts towards the end!

I think it depends on the banks. Some do it the way you described, others (Natwest/RBS?) only show them online once a payment has been made.
Anyone know how Tesco show theirs ? - Just set 3 up now and hoping they will show up before payments have been taken
I set up a £1 monthly donation to Comic Relief two days ago, and have just this morning received a text message from Tesco to let me know the DD has been set up, and it appears in the App under Move Money -> Scheduled Payments. No payments have been taken yet.
