That would be grear but where does this come from ?Ed2000 said:No Crown Immunity for data cases. ICO is preparing to sink the DVLA, will be a nasty battle. If the ICO wins it will mean resignations at the top level. I fancy I know who the DVLA silk will be, she normally does newspaper libel cases.0 -
You are free to contact the ICO and ask for its view on DVLA processing personal data (under GDPR). Email address is on its website.patient_dream said:

Interesting but just a view does not mean they will do anything.Ed2000 said:

I agree. But the more people who complain to the ICO, the greater the pressure, the problem is the ICO is scared stiff of the DfT. The ICO has never taken on the government before, as far as I am aware (could be wrong on that). The fact that things have gotten this far is due to one person's efforts, not the ICO. The ICO is a reluctant data cop. It would rather be eating doughnuts parked up in a layby.patient_dream said:

I just made a complaint to the ICO and they sent a message to say to expect it to be 3 months before I hear. So they definitly don't move fast2

Email ICO and ask for the date they opened a FORMAL investigation into the DVLA processing personal data. I would like to what know they say.Cardriver45 said:I just made a complaint to the ICO and they sent a message to say to expect it to be 3 months before I hear. So they definitly don't move fast1 -
Nice work, EW, are you in touch with this solicitor firm to make sure they know all this about the ICO?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have not spoken to them, I shall be looking out for the basis on which they say people can make a claim. I suspect they are seeing things from a different angle to me.

If a PPC gets a Red grading after an audit by the GIAA, are there any sanctions applied, or are they still able to obtain keeper data, despite a Red audit result indicating a fundamental weakness in control?

Given that VCS failed all three Audits between 2016 and 2020 I'm guessing that the answer is no.ParkingMad said:If a PPC gets a Red grading after an audit by the GIAA, are there any sanctions applied, or are they still able to obtain keeper data, despite a Red audit result indicating a fundamental weakness in control?

(The Audits are worthless anyway-there's no physical check of any signs on site-simply a photograph or photographs provided by the PPC).3
