Hello lovelies. I am good(ish) thank you. I have just been way too busy for anything other than two full time jobs over June and July. My role in the exam marking is quite senior now so I've been very busy juggling being a teacher with being quite important and overseeing the GCSE papers in preparation for results day. It was busier than I thought it was going to be and so stressful sometimes - but I loved doing it. The bigger stress came from end of term stuff at school and I've had a few crises about whether or not I can continue with teaching. However, I think a lot of people working in public services feel like that at the moment. Everything is overstressed, understaffed and underfunded.
There's been very little else going on as I've been so busy with work. The fluffies are all doing fine - the two babies are now spayed, neutered and fully vaccinated and learning to enjoy the garden - maybe a bit too much actually. Good job we're all home at the moment so they can come and go as they please.
I'm actively trying to avoid the news (still) because it's all just a bit too much for my brain to cope with at the moment. I'm starting to get concerned about the same stuff as everyone else - cost of living (mainly food and utilities) and wondering how I'm going to manage to make ends meet. I'm working very hard to earn as much as I can and it feels like a lot of effort to just keep paying out in terms of bills and food. Now I have a bit more time I actually need to sit down and look through my finances and try and make a plan. Obviously there's been no contact from ex or any sign of the money that he owes which is no surprise but very frustrating.
DD goes on holiday tomorrow. She's very excited - been packing for the best part of a week. Planning outfits and what she's going to do while she's there. I'll miss her - hope she enjoys her time away. After she gets back, ds and I are going to have a UK break for a week or so. Staggering the holidays like that means I don't need to find someone to look after the cats while we're gone, and I certainly don't fancy a foreign holiday at the moment (don't think I could afford it to be honest). I want somewhere very quiet where I won't see many people (miserable so and so that I am).
I hope that all is well with you lot. I will be around more and trying to catch up...
