Oh that is just awful, CCL. There was an extra layer of skank to that scam, wasn't there, & I can see how you fell for it. You'd already been suspicious of the first thing, so the follow-up very craftily got you 'onside' by confirming your suspicions about that. Absolutely hateful people. I'm so sorry if it looks like you will lose the money.

So sorry to read about the scammers CCL - hope the bank will be gracious and return the money. Surely it’s in their best interests to investigate thoroughly, especially as the scammers had pretended to be from the fraud dept.

I am so sorry to hear of your troucles. The scams are becoming more and more sophisticated and hard for people to detect.I hope the bank are kind and that you get at least some of your money back. I think a lot of year 11s are in dont care mode. The trouble is they will suffer in the end with their oppurtunities limited. It must be very hard for teachers who are trying to motivate them. Try to enjoy your cats our furry companions are agreat comfort in hard times.Dont mention the NHS my eye consultant has had appointments all the way througgh the last two years but about a year before covid hit I was refered to a different eye consultant about a different problem with one eye. The firsat referral never happened and since the second I have heard nothing. All I am told by my consultant is is possibly there is nothing than can be done. I know it can be solved but apparently there is no one interested. Even a letter telling me that would have been nice. I am now about 4 years into having one eye permanently closed or almost closed with the other one often. drooping because of the original prolem6

CCL, I'm so, so sorry to read this. None of it was your fault, so please don't beat yourself up about it. Some of these scams are just horrendously sophisticated and many of us would have been caught out the same. I really hope the bank return your money.
In the meantime, snuggle the new fluffballs and try to be kind to yourself. Sending massive hugs xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

So horrible to read that. It gets to a point where no one dare trust anything. My in-laws got as far as actually drawing money out of their account to put in a scam one before the penny dropped. There are some despicable people out there 😡 Sadly, the better we get at spotting scams, the sneakier they become. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
