Evening everyone
I thought I was going to be busy but I never imagined for a second just how busy I was going to get - juggling school and exam stuff. Definitely took on more than I was capable of - so basically everything that I've done for the past 3 weeks or so has been school work, exam work, sleep, repeat.
I reached the end of my tether by last Friday - I was very tearful and had realised that I had more to do than I could manage so I had to offload some of the work to someone to help me. By Sunday morning I was exhausted and feeling utterly run down - migraine, stress etc. and by Sunday afternoon I was on my way back to out of hours doctors with another kidney infection. Ugh. So that put paid to work and I was basically forced to rest from everything for a couple of days. I had a kidney infection a couple of years ago and it took me almost a week to be able to do anything. Caught it a little earlier this time so by yesterday I managed to get myself back into school. I still have the pain in my back but I had parents evening and was also very fed up of setting cover so I went in.
Day started with the main dual carriageway being closed and my usual 25 minute commute taking over an hour. And the tyre pressure light coming on in the car. I had just replaced a tyre on Saturday after a puncture but was relieved to see that they all looked fine. I was devastated and wanted to turn round and go home - probably a sign I wasn't properly better. Thank goodness for co-codamol though - I made it through the day and the parents evening as well, then was in bed by 9pm to the dulcet tones of Storm Dudley battering everything outside. Did not want to get up this morning, but it is almost half term now - and my back hurts less today than it did yesterday, so I went in.
Finally did a couple of things that were desperate - got the car washed and bought some cat litter. The past few weeks have literally gone by in a blur. I did nothing round the house, didn't see anyone and really didn't look after myself. Lesson learned though - I'm back now and I will not take on that much work with such a short deadline again. I just thought I could manage it - but I couldn't.
So now I have to catch up on all of the other neglected stuff. Finances, grocery shopping and sorting out the house. And oh my goodness I cannot wait to have a long lie in and see my friends and my mam.
I'm too tired to catch up on here tonight but I will certainly do it over the weekend. Hope that you're all doing ok.
I feel like I have loads to tell you - ds refusing school, dd getting a driving test date, me getting a urology referral
It will have to wait as I really need to get another early night. Yes I know it's not 8pm yet but I am exhausted and I have a kidney infection.

Oh dear, @crazy_cat_lady, do look after yourself & feel better soon. I think you may well be developing a tendency towards kidney infections when you are highly stressed & neglecting to look after yourself. Hope an early night does you good & that you can soon manage a few lie-ins or a sofa weekend to help your recovery.
DS refusing school? That doesn't sound too good. Hope it has been sorted out now, or at least well on its way to being sorted.
Please take care of yourself,
F xx

I do hope washing the car meant taking it through a car wash. Otherwise there is enough rain to leave it outside & let the rain do the job.

What a rollercoaster! Rest up and take care. I hear you on all the rest of life stuff being neglected, I have had a shocking week on that front and the smallest thing is pushing me over the edge, not helped by hubby and DD claiming it was easy to fix. Yes it was, but it was just one extra thing I had to give brains space too and add into the juggling. They just didn't get itDebt free Feb 2021 🎉8

Hugs. Was glad to see you were posting but not your news 🤗8

Loads of (gentle) hugs coming your way.
Please take it easy after school finishes. I know there's loads to do in the house etc, but it can all wait for another week.
Enlist the kids into doing something.. like bringing you tea/coffee and cake whilst you lay up on the settee or in bed, chilling out and letting your body and mind recover. XXXI Believe.....
