£100,364.13! Had some dividends pay into VAN so now my total balance there (inc S&S isa) has finally crossed the 6 figure mark
Will be more coming in dividends wise this weekend as well
This feels huge - seeing a 6 figure amount in one of my accts, due to savings and some real focus on learning and utilising tax advantages. So whilst my hse deposit has stayed static the last couple years largely due to the payment issue this sipp has continued to be looked after and I have dropped spare cash in. Also will look good on my eventual mortgage application.
SIPP VanYou started with £0.00 (April 5th 2020)You contributed and withdrew £51,196.92Your investments returned you £18,985.14You ended up with £70,182.06Your rate of return is 70.60%
The figures state I contrib £51,196.92 but of course some of that £51k is the 25% Govt give back tax incentive whilst being self employed ... plus the tax advantages on the couple years I was HR tax payer so had the further tax back as a cheque so that not in the figures. I have also earmarked some of my monthly MB profits - at least 15% - for my sipp so the drip feeding has worked
Now the last 2/3 years being my own ltd company my company paid my SIPP direct so again tax advantages there (as its viewed as a pre-tax cost of my business). I delayed on being a company for my mortgage goals but it is amazing the difference in tax vs self employed
The 7 figure target mark is a while awaybut if Ernie ever calls my SIPP is ready and waiting
VAN SIPP £70,182.06 - my van sipp crossed the £70k mark (got £6k in HarLan SIPP as well)
So the goal is Van sipp £80k by March 2026 -
VAN ISA S&S £30,182.07 - first time over £30k as wellThis is part my hse deposit
You contributed and withdrew £22,838.31Your investments returned you £7,343.75You ended up with £30,182.07Your rate of return is 40.16%
I may have to move my S&S isa given the £85k bank protection limit - I have a few other very small s&s isas (opened for cashback) as well as cash isa's but its all Van funds so anyone found a as cheap as vanguard s&s isa?? I dont want ti sell and be out the market - when I moved my S*S isa from Fidelity into Vanguard they literally lost some funds (!!) and I had to chase the missing amount for weeks
Gotta celebrate the small and major wins!!
@dawnybabes @Cheery_Daff
Some monies should be arriving today - I have harried them daily inc this morning the last 2 weeks as its always 'tomorrow'. I chased yesterday and today been promised - they did set up my bank again and paid me £1 on Tuesday!!
I will report back to you all !
THE CAP - the shop thinks they have found the cap so now searching the warehouse!!
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
