So sorry to hear your sad news - life is certainly cruel sometimes 😢3

Tx all for your wishes and concerns everyone inc those who have popped in who dont normally
.
Just happened so swiftly after a celebratory festive night out, a fall down the stairs.. one of his kids found him ;( So the mum also dealing with the tragedy, shock and grief of the kids as well as her own.
My crazy ski accidents, bonkers nights out, heels sliding on marble floors ... so many times it could have gone wrong. A psychic once said I had 2 guardian angels working overtime for me and I believe it .. though now when I am walking down stairs with heels and a glass in hand I am gingerly holding on !
It has made me think about wills again as accidents do happen and though I dont have dependents and my DB pension is already in my mums name, I do have money in various places, savings etc and no will in place for art, jewellery or indeed what I would want and how they would plan for my own funeral - a Buddhist funeral, lots of free drinks, gf food and a live band /choir (feeling a New Orleans jazz band but dont need the plumed horses, carriage or the Missisippi boat) and leaving the money to pay for it
Still not heard from Pi*l**o Plumbers - now day 3 after my complaint Monday and yesterdays chase...
work
Had to call up one agent as I am currently doing a new short contract for them and the way they are interpreting a few hours 'morning' work to be paid yet suddenly expecting a full day focus is insane so having to fight that for everyone else, as its an old client suddenly pushing the normal process.
They also magically trimmed the prep days - expected to get paid 2 days and they querying my invoice and trimming it down to one day .. Seriously? I dont need the hassle and disrespect for not that much money. I have said so. I am signed up for this and one in March but if thats it for this work its fine.
Tonight
I am exhausted and got another early start but have a friends BIG bday bash tonight - also starting late at 9pm (I am not as rock n roll as I was ) but I have to go. I think I am battling a cold or illness along with a lot of work on so planning to pop in for 2 hrs max. However we been friends for decades... and no chance I can not go
I have organised to see friends before hand... hopefully a glass or 2 may wake me up, there is a dj at least.

I have definitely been a little background sad these last few days - and it’s made me reflect on friends I have lost over the years.I had a lovely evening Thursday at my friends big bday bash , lots of old friends, some dancing. Late finish (past 3am) as at the end I was sat down catching up - my friend attracts fabulous interesting individuals as do I
Friday therefore was hard work and had a lunchtime nap !Went out to dinner with a friend last night in South London -(paid for by her gift card and I picked the coffees & extra side plate for £12)
lovely place but empty - but it was super rainy last night - but hope for the restaurant sake it picks up - it was quite a walk from the nearest tube so you’d have to be local or it have to be amazing to make a special effort
worrying for the restaurant trade - it is post Xmas after all and COL biting hard
However I went to bed far too late - caught up with some private Practice - so late up
Saturday lunchtime and I am tired but happy to be home - 2 weeks ago I was in the States and last Sat out of london so I have cancelled my Sat afternoon and Sat eve plans and apart from the gym I am catching up here in my home - the pressure cooker is making chicken stock and I will do a soup on my return from my gym (ems - as I pay for 2 sessions a week it really gets me training - if it was a normal annual feee I can ignore the gym but having the money taken out weekly keeps me going
- next week could be crazier and I need to do some work Sunday - I rarely work on weekends but having this new contract running has delayed other work that requires quiet and uninterrupted focusMy nutrition this week has not been good as I added sweets back in my diet ..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

I am back on the minimalism game - gamification works better for me - so 8 items decluttered or trashed yesterday
going to get back to that last 5 mins before bed moving things out - have a CS bag on the hall I need to get out
Apart from my gym yesterday and shopping at Morriso** where I spent far too much I was at home
I had bumped into a friend at Mirries but she was trying to download a Vodap voucher to pay and wasn’t buying without / I didn’t say anything but was aware I am lucky I can afford my food shopping without stress
the stock I made yesterday (from a corn fed chicken) was epic - so I made up an Asia chicken and veg broth bowl (like you’d buy in Wagama** )
I seperately fried up pak choi and mange tout (to keep the crunch) and added to the broth shredded chicken, pigeon peas, peas, mushrooms, garlic, ginger, fresh chilli and coriander plus some free sample GF noodles
so tasty and filling - warming to the soul as well
I have more stock and chicken etc left so will make another and leave rest for a bean stew
my grocery bill has gone up but I am commiting to buying at least one fr chicken a week as it gets me 4 meals at least plus stock to make soup /stews etc and add veg and beans
I am determined to really transform my efficiency to achieve some goals and transforming those habits that dont serve me in getting what I want - been chanting about it so I
started reading @debtfreewannabe321 book suggestion - complex CPtsd by Pete Walker - can really recognise a couple behaviours - the being super busy flight response and where I sink into book reading the whole trilogy at a time doom scrolling and staying up watching tv mindlessly instead of getting proper rest - dissociating basically - the ‘freeze’ response
I am a high performing individual but my occasional checking out in a nonhealthy way frustrates me (as opposed to relaxing in ways that make me laugh, happy and get me rest ) and so far the book has me recognising some behaviours - I then though went to bed early 9pm and had a wonderful nights sleep
so I am still reading it but just awareness I think is helping - asking ‘what is triggering me to want to do x’ etc
I will report back - I can mindlessly eat sweets and crisps but luckily my coping mechanism arent drugs and alcohol - at home I never think where is the wine to destress but where are the Harib* - the book is fascinating though
I also did a fair amount of tidying yesterday And the flat after a crazy week feels better - just as when I got back from my hotel stay - surrounded by no clutter - I always feel happier when things are tidy around me - and given I also plan to buy this year /next and my flat situation is in the air still I want to prepare to move into my dream home without a life time of my own clutter !Hanging on to things that I don’t live or need just makes an untidy too busy lifeI note the book is also making me think that part of my security need to have money in the bank and be able to be free and fly anywhere at a moments notice vs the responsibility of a home and huge mortgage also may partially be based in my ‘flight ‘ response from childhood - my need to be able to fly - both ‘fly away’ and also to ‘soar’ and create my own world
In my work I create worlds so it’s not all bad
I am not making any big moves from reading this book just upping my awareness, chanting and journaling - and seeing where/when I don’t put my own happiness health and goals front and centre, then seeing what else may then be happening - who upset me, whats triggered my response. I am happy most days but be good to stop this staying up too late and not using my spare time wisely to rest and honour my long term goals.
today I am chanting , doing Minimalism game and tidy and some software work as I need the mental calm to do it
I may be walking my friends dog this week so may need to get keys today and see dog as will need to work from here as lots of online teams stuff to do
hope everyone has a happy peaceful SundayDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
