@SandyShores those chairs sound lovely! None of mine hug me sadly!
@SouthCoast I can only wish one fabulous sofa - thats the problem with being gifted nice stuff - you have to get rid of something else really you may actually prefer. I am planning to stand on one of the new chairs to see if it feels as stable as the one I am thinking of getting rid of but is the perfect diy/painting chair.
Decluttering in abeyance whist my DN (niece ) @Cheery_Daff is here - lovely to have her but I am losing 4-5 hours a day taking her to/from her classes.. time which is coming from my work/fitness/death cleaning /seeing friends. We are also having a nice time in the evenings which is great (seeing an immersive big show this week as well) but this travel argh - I am in awe of working parents and single parents how on earth do they raise kids and get anything done!
The train I was on to pick her up today got cancelled WHILST I was on it.. The replacement behind then got cancelled, the line suspended and then in an effort to get there another trin in a different route got stuck behind a broken down train ... Cue a v expensive Uber across London at rush hour to meet her... as she waited in the school cafe.
It is a v busy EOM/EOY week with lots of work I am trying to get done - luckily someone has been so inefficient and delayed sending needed/asked for data for over 2.5 weeks despite multiple demands - having sent the wrong data completely months ago... and when it has arrived at 2pm today it was incomplete, huge and I found one error in 2 mins..- so one project cant move forward - i need to build an excel of questions.. They also have erred that luckily we found it or it would have cost a LOT.
Insane how bad some people are at what should be clear jobs that are part of what they are paid for .. I stomped around but /// Good news is all this makes me look efficient, brilliant and I earn money the more this person messes up and doesnt deliver and proves they cant add up so I should wish for them to be this bad always. The other part of me thinks I am not paid enough to deal with this!
No time for looking for new jobs with all this going on.. maybe next week ... Each week since mid June I have tried to find time for my new next step priorities and failed...
I cant discuss my Grocery spend (!) - will add all up tomorrow in ynab .. ouch but did buy lots YS stuff in waitrose today..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Just caught up. What a lovely read. Am planning on watching the death cleaning series. I realised yesterday that just about any cleaning can be therapeutic as I sat on an old telephone pole laying on the ground surveying what the man had done. It felt very calming.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -

Please do watch the show and report back.
Invoices - some were meant to get paid and did not.
Luckily YNAB came to the rescue - great to see in all my accts all the scheduled DD's and dates, so knew how best to move cash around. . Plus I had paid my end July cc bill on what was due as per beg JULY BILL - so no interest charged but have held back the money (which is all in the CC category safely waiting) to pay off the yet to arrive beginning Aug bill. Upside is it was an easy move to ensure I have money to pay my rent in the morning (i also moved some MB float cash) and then when i do get paid the beg Aug cc bill yet to be issued will be paid off - I am really trying to aim to get a full month ahead so when I get paid say end Aug it is for October bills - However I need some serious invoice repaying happening - its been promised
I was off the CC float but I am on it each time I dont get paid..
Doing some round ups for YNAB - even withe me moving some sinking funds around I overspent by £17.27 on groceries plus 2 x £12 items from same place (I was abroad) I dont recognise so I need to chase those up with cc.
I actually have not overspent as I can clearly see I have made decent money with MB this month - I have not added it all up but there is maybe double my float hanging around - so that is a to do Thurs job
I have reconciled my EOM accts, my sipps are all going sloooowllly up. My NAV has gone up but still lower than 4 months ago when another lag in invoices from two clients happened
Work - got loads done today as dropped DN off earlier and a later pick up in an easier place to get to ...however tomorrow is back to 2 hours first thing to drop her off and then off to EMS training ... and then leave again mine at 4pm for pick up - cant see me getting doe what I need in the day - may have to take my laptop on the overground to work.. hmmm

FOOD
I am away again from Monday seeing family for a few days so rather than stocking up the fridge as I like to do to feel at home - I am trying to eat mostly out the freezer and delay the big shop til my return. Someone on here (South Coast/Suffolk Lass?) mentioned about not paying the supermarkets to store their stuff .. and it stayed with me - I am decluttering and that also means I need to lean in on emptying the freezer.
I do have some decent meat in there so a pork crackling joint may well be weekend dinner.
I had 2 HellFresh MEALS I did not eat before I left where i had frozen most the ingredients so added loads of greens to a beef rogan josh curry I made for breakfast this morning with ginger rice (!) - basically fry some ginger puree in oil for 1 min then add the dry rice to coat then add cooking water and salt. it was nice and had a nice slight taste
There is a chicken/lentil dish as well but not convinced the courgette I slammed in the freezer will be great once defrosted.
The week before I left I did go to Iceland and bought loads of frozen veg from spinach, beans, peas, edamame, okra, peppers, kale etc so at least I have plenty of that - I am still on the eat loads of greens trail - I did not eat as many when I was away this last 2 weeks - for half the time I had my own fridge (so rocket/salad) but no real cooking facilities beyond a microwave so ate one decent meal out a day plus salad and snacks....
MG - 8 so far - going to run around before bed and get that total up to 21!
EDIT - got the 21 things! I do like the midnight declutter run around my flat
