Yes, that’s an idea.
The Triton manuals clearly show the internals which helps. Need to have some idea of
wiring and water supply positions before I buy.1 -
I've fitted loads of Triton Enrich/Cara in student lets and they seem pretty good for the price so wouldn't dissuade you from Triton. The ones that seemed to last the longest were Redring and Mira but, as with many things, quality can deteriorate on newer models as manufacturers try to chase a price point.
Again, not pushing Mira over Triton (I used to fit Enrich where I could £50) but when I needed a replacement that would replace pretty much any other shower fitted I turned to the Mira Jump MultiFit.

Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.1 -

Mira Jump looks good with the different connecting options.
There’s a useful vid too on installation.

I’ve now plumbed in the bath and will probably measure up for PVC cladding for shower area.
I’ll need to decide on the shower unit beforehand or maybe it can be mounted onto the cladding panels.

If your gonna use tiles or panels on the walls, prime the walls with Mapei primer.

The Triton has the same power terminal block position as the old shower (pic) so will reach ok.
What is different though is the positioning of the new water supply pipe.
It would mean a fairly tight right angle for LH positioning or an extension to go to the other side on the T80Z.
Probably won’t be with the footprint.
The Mira has a lot more room for the water pipe and the inlet is further up. I can pull out more cable from the wall if needed.
