    I'm trying to search https://creative.dailymail.co.uk/travelbag/orlando

Logically I would have thought I should press the Categories under the main search but if I do that I don't get the Category options.  So I followed through @JamboDP way of doing it above, clicking Discussions, then the Categories come up on the right hand side.

It still looks muddled to me, but perhaps there are final tweeks to be done, certainly no worse than we've been dealing with.
Putting quotes around the URL works better:

    Thanks @pate-ci0

    that tip works much better

Possible Problem #2 - When search term appears in more than one post of a thread

Where a search term appears in more than one post of a thread, the thread appears in the results just once, and you get the "x results" shown by the arrow, but it is the (latest?) reply that takes precedence (note the "Re:" in the title). You can click on the "x results" to see them all.
I'm not sure if this feature is good or bad - The alternative would be to show all the results individually, and I wonder if the original post should take precedence.

My Problem #3 - Ability to NOT search replies

With the old search we could choose whether or not to include replies in the search. I nearly always wanted to search Original Posts (and Titles) only so I deselected "replies". Can't do this now :(

I've just had a wee play, and I think it's vastly improved. It takes too much faff to use, but at least it seems to bring up the right results, meaning it's usable, at last. Thanks MSE. Now then, any chance of a little more tinkering, to simplify it?

In my opinion they have made the search worse that it was before. It takes ages to fill in all that you are searching. I am searching by end date. On the last one I only had to change one thing in the search which was the date. But on the new one you can't save search settings from what I see...so each day you have to fill it all in again!

My Problem #4 - searching explicit URLs

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6287954 contains the explicit URL:

    https://www.moneymagpie.com/save-money/win-a-smash-food-and-drink-bundle-worth-over-200

searching "moneymagpie" does NOT find it (old search used to find things like this)

    searching "www.moneymagpie.com" finds it OK

My Problem #5 - Implicit URLs

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6288933 contains a "clicky" with the implicit URL
    https://imperfectlynatural.com/2-x-50-vouchers-to-be-won/

    "imperfectlynatural" does NOT find it
    "imperfectlynatural.com" does NOT find it

I have thought of a way to improve the search facility. who do you need to contact about it. When you do a search in competition time you also search in all the sub catorgories like Post, Regular, advent, Chat, IW and Game over, if they create another clicky and Name it "Main competition board" and put all the comps in that. when you  search then you will only search in live comps.
    HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE.

Jambo, I think the best place to tell MSE is probably Site Feedback:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/site-feedback

It may be a good idea to also add a link to this thread, so they know there's a discuss going on, and can follow it, if they want to.
