  • Sorry to hear that Buffy.

Have you any counselling support to talk to at the moment?

Good!  (for the dinner and ranting that is, hope you get to nap for the shattered!)

  • Saw friends for coffee today, food was awful but company was great.

Have come to the depressing realisation that I am going to have to sell my beloved car. Genuinely trying not well up here. it is due its MOT at the end of next month but it isn't Ulez compliant (bloody hate Sadiq Khan!!!!) ( I mean I don't but I do love my car) and has to use E5 petrol which is expensive.
Can get a replacement for around 2500. Of course that would be brilliant if I had 2500 knocking about. I do not.

Was going to write more but distracted by the dogs.

Not really, 3 or 4 of my friends live in the zone and mum's dentist is there, the hospital and ironically my mechanic. I don't drive there often at all, however in an emergency I might have to and yes i could pay the fine/charge (for being poor!!!) but it is another cost, the road tax is 275, the petrol, the charges, the moral point that it pollutes. I socialise there, but obviously mostly drinking or in hope of drinking ;)

    Have hoovered.

Just to add to the total joy that is my life, the dish washer is broken. As well as the freezer and possibly the heating.

I have to ring all of mum's health people tomorrow to make the next round of appointments.

I have year ten books to mark, a dishwasher and freezer to empty and all the animals to clean out.

    best get on.

Sorry the car has to go….will you replace it? Sounds like all your appliances are playing up big time.

Oh no.  I've only had a dishwasher a month and already I send you heartfelt sympathy!

  • I have taken the day off.

I am not specifically ill(bit of an earache weirdly and was sweating when I woke up), I just decided when I woke up after my 4 and half hour sleep that I was tired and emotional, I am worn out, shaky and need a break. I set cover and will probably go back to bed in a minute.

Parts of this weekend were so stressful and the reality is I only have myself. I really do need to look after myself. I do think one of the reasons why I have taught for so long is that I have learnt to take days off when needed.

  • Absolutely agree Buffy.  When you are the only production capacity, your welfare is the priority.  Much better to take the occasional day than to end up off for months with burnout.

I had to actually say this out loud to someone recently who disapproved of me shutting the cat out of the bedroom at night.  I need decent sleep, and even the animals need me to have it too, because I cannot care for them well or even work to buy their food if I'm not right myself.
