  • Glad you had a nice lunch. It must be so difficult sorting your mum out and her not wanting the things you suggest.

    Enjoy your nap. X

  • Nap was good and I am going to make tea in a minute. Mum is still asleep. Will see if she wakes up first.. I need to do three loads of washing, clean out all the animals and then make dinner.

Oh and get ready for work, tho I have a plan to get in early..... Although I must try and rescue my old work shoes.... and hoover.. but that is optimistic.

I am so upset with mum, the doctor insisted that she drink a lot of water to help the treatment work as best it can(she has a 48 hour window)  and she has had one glass all day (and two cups of tea but the doctors point was more water to help her kidneys). One bloody glass. She just gets the hump if I mention it. I even went out yesterday especially to get spring water and sparkling water to see if she would try them, you would honestly think I was poisoning her with the sparkling water!! It is so unfair of her. Just bloody drink it.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Are you sure her not drinking has more to do with a bladder issue than anything else.  My mother always drank quite a bit until she lost mobility & went into a care home.  Unfortunately care homes seem to think that as long as you have appropriate underwear (& rfrankly they are not too bothered about that) it doesn't matter if it takes an age to get you to the toilet.
  • I’m sorry your mum isn’t drinking as much as she should. Perhaps it is another issue rather than her deliberately not doing as she’s told.

Hope you’re ok and work isn’t too stressful x

  • Oh it is definitely about going to the loo. 100% But she won't admit it and when I started to mention it she told the doctor that I was wrong, she just didn't like water. Not a lot to be done. To be fair she has had 4 glasses now.

The garden is a STATE. Makes me sad. Next weekend I will do the back third, hopefully paint the sheds and put down membrane and bark.

And then it will be the rabbit third the following weekend and then a weekend off.

  • Hello all.

Had to take the day off to take Mum for a follow up appointment after the drama of Saturday. Work are not pleased as we have a lot of staff absence already. Still here I am. we just go back.

Mum seems to be doing better, quite chatty and interested in things. It is good to see tho if you don't give her your undivided attention she does get upset which is difficult.

    I am so tired.

    anyhow best make lunch. XXXX

Have you got a Carers Passport in place with work? You need one if you haven’t.
