Pleased to hear you’ve made progress with the food battles.
There are 5 big things on the list and 5 half term days ( presuming you’ve not got in service days)….. doesn’t leave much time for fun.
Yeah. I am looking forward to doing my room tho, I absolutely need my day to day life to be easier. It is too hard to keep doing everything the hard way.

It's a bad job though when you have to do the docs job for them.  Awful what can happen when people are totally on there own with no-one to look out for them.  At least now you know.
  • Wishing you a productive and restful half term.

  • Well. The weekend went so quickly. I did nap both days and watch Bridgerton. Almost made me want a partner again but not quite!

My best guinea pig girl is going to be 6 soon and that is making me so sad. She is so lovely. I wish I could say she had a good life, but for the first two years I was helping out my sister and then the next 3 mum/lockdown so although she has been safe and well fed she never got to do the things I wanted to do - like live outside during the summer (couldn't due to neighbour - the rabbits have a burrow so could hide from him if there was ever a problem) or have a bigger cage. She is happy enough with her pal in a pile of hay but I do feel guilty. I keep thinking that their whole life depends on me and it was so hard when someone was ill. I mean during covid...crikey I remember cleaning out the cage and being so so tired I honestly thought I might not wake up but there no way anyone was going to think I didn't care about the guinea pigs!

In money news, the car needs servicing. If there is anything seriously wrong I will need to get a new car. I have the money. Just not want I wanted to do. Also, the cc has gone up to 200...

I am not saving enough. I think somewhere I have realised I will never own a house and so the incentive isn't there at the moment. In other news, I am thinking of taking up running, not done it since I broke my ankle a few years ago. I would like something to aim for so I thought of doing a 5km in May and a 10km in November. It gives me a long enough time to get fit enough. I miss the walking. tho currently it is raining like it is the end of the world so not so much right now!

Tomorrow am going to start on my room. wish me luck XXX

  • Buffy - have you had a blood test recently. Make sure you aren't having a similar problem to your mother. I was always tired and it turned out I needed a transfusion also. Red blood cell count was way down. Don't forget to look after yourself.
It is really hard taking care of a mother sometimes. I did for several years and it was very trying. We clashed a lot too. My sisters never understood because they were never there to help. It is difficult doing it on your own. Hopefully things will get better for you. Hang in there.

I am terrified of needles so no but it did cross my mind - we don't eat as well as we used to and it is her poor diet that caused the issues.  thank you for sharing, I am realising as this continues that lots of people have done this and under far more difficult circumstances.

I was tired all the time, had quite low mood and was putting on weight - all symptoms vastly improved by my GP discovering that I had an under-active thyroid.
As others have said, please take time for yourself and talk to your doctor. You matter too.

To paraphrase what they are saying - blood test now!
I know you hate needles but I don't know about a B12 definciency or an iron deficiency although I did have an iron deficiency in my teens & had almost permanent headaches, long story we should have done the optician for fraud.  But I do know about thyroid problems from both sides.  My father was over-active & I am under-active.  The lab joked with my doctor that I had almost broken their machine I was so bad.  It affects your skin, your brain, your energy, your weight, the speed with which you heal, your hair, your muscles.  When it is really bad you don't even recognise yourself in a mirror because your face has changed so much (the muscles collapse & your face falls).  It also affects your eyesight as this involves muscles.  It also can cause depression.  So please, pretty please do get checked out.
  • Hello all X

Doctors are all booked and I would need to take a day off work to get an appointment. One of those phone on the day things. The demand is so great apparently. She thought the situation might change in a few weeks - I have no idea why? I felt to be honest and in the nicest possibly way she BSing me. I mean winter is coming, not exactly going to lead to a drop in demand. It was left that I would ring 111 if I felt worse! Cheers for that.

Took Mum to get her vaccines yesterday and it was very hard to watch her struggle so much. Today we are waiting for the stair lift man to come and service the stairlift...

Beyond that, I have done a lot in the front garden, cut loads back been to the tip 4 times and filled the green bin. Tip is closed Wed and Thurs but hopefully if the car is fixed I can go again Friday, Saturday with more. I don't want to go Sunday. Got a pile of work to do then. Haven't touched my room because the garden kept me busy - I actually enjoyed it. I will give my room a go today. It is quite daunting, I didn't realise we have had the stairlift for 6 months and all the stuff I moved is still in my room :(

anyhow. man has been and all is well. I best get on with something.... XXX
