Could it be sciatica. You don't just get it in the back. The problem can be that you feel a bad pain in one place so don't notice the lesser pain in other places. What about down the outside of your leg?

Spent all day at the hospital with Mum to have her transfusion. We also managed to get a chest X ray and a urine test. Go us!

Summer is over. It was an outright disaster.
