Could it be sciatica.  You don't just get it in the back.  The problem can be that you feel a bad pain in one place so don't notice the lesser pain in other places.  What about down the outside of your leg?

I have been wearing slippers a lot and my garden shoes (my God am I admitting to garden shoes!) are flat. I wore my trainers today and it was better.

Weird that it came on so suddenly.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

The summer break from school is only a matter of weeks. You can’t be expected to do months worth of work in a few weeks…..I used to set massive tasks until I realised that 👍

You have to chip away at mammoth tasks or they overwhelm you.

On a separate note, what make of pond pump do you have? As you know I need a new one and no idea which to get.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
